Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have a question. I am working on a local site with xampp and today, after a Windows 10 update, the mysql port has stopped working. After seeing a couple of tutorials on YT, I was able to restore it, but now when I type in the browser: localhost / SITE NAME /wp-admin.php I am redirected to the page: localhost / SITE NAME / wp-admin / install. php that´s the page for the first installation page of WP, which I would not want to do because I am afraid that I will reset the site. Of course I have the site backed up and I also see that all related folders are still there, they haven't been touched at all. I believe it is simply a matter of renaming a file. Can you please help me? Thank you.

I was using flywheel a few days ago and today I am getting errors.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. Still getting errors.
Why suggest it if it stops working after a few days?

Everything installed just fine BUT when I tried to run it, it came back and told me to check with router log and that I also did not have the right to run, but I have admin rights?

First got it running with Mamp for PC and now with your help have it running on the flywheel as my biggest problem was running more than one local site (and still not sure how to save yet) but luckily it's looking like I can create many within flywheel ' work and show from there. Hi Adam, great video! Unfortunately, I get an error "this computer doesn't have VT-x/AMD-v enabled, enabling it in BIOS is mandatory..." but there's no such option in my computer (AMD ROG PC). I've checked the Flywheel community and this is a known error but they don't seem to have a resolution. Do you know of any alternative apps that do the same job or if there's a way to get around changing things in BIOS?

If anyone can answer this question, I'd appreciate your help. I see that stopping the program will close out the website. When I click Start again, will all of my saved changes still be there? I'm afraid to click Stop and lose all of my work.

Great Video! As I see this Flywheel works only as a testing site. Is it possible to upload this staging site to your actual Live site?

But how do you upload? It looks like this is a product for Flywheel WordPress hosting.

It keeps showing me the "Checking System" status after it's been successfully installed (I'm using Window). The first time I installed I thought there might be some error so, I restart my PC and still showing the same. Then, I uninstalled and installed it again. I even leave it for more than an hour like that and still nothing. It just doesn't go beyond the Checking System thing. Is this normal?

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree that the demo URL feature of Flywheel, in addition to its easy use, is the main reason that one may prefer to use it over other programs such as XAMPP to create local Wordpress sites. Instead of glossing over them, it would be very helpful if you explain step by step how to use the Exporting and Blueprinting features in Flywheel in the same way you explained the demo URL feature.

I'm digging Local, but it seems like it is a pretty time intensive process to migrate from Desktop Server to Local (I've got over 30 sites to move if I switch!) — do you think they will have an automated tool soon? And if not do you think it is worth the effort? I was going to use backupbuddy to move them all, but sheesh! what a pain! btw, thanks for the helpful videos. :-)

Are you recommending this over DesktopServer, which you recommended in a previous video? It sure looks good. I had already bought DesktopServer Premium based on your review and a few other reviews. It works well, but the one thing I was concerned about is a way for my client to review their website. In DesktopServer it appears I would have to publish it to a folder online, but with Local, I can create a link with one click.

Hi Adam. TY for the video on local by flywheel. a note for anyone asking about PC version. It is now available. I will be installing it on my PC. Question for you Adam.....  Can you make a vid on a woocommerce SSL setup for local please. You briefly mention ecommerce in this vid. I like Elementor, woocommerce, paypal merchant, either gator or TMD hosting, and feel your vid tutorials are very informative and easy to learn from because of the way you teach. A SSL woocommerce setup on local flywheel using a template ecommerce would be a great tutorial if you have the time. I sure would thank you if you could slap one of those vids together for myself and everyone. :)

Adam, perhaps you might be able to advice me regarding Local by Flywheel - I've tried asking the community forum three times but no response. Would you know if I re-install the program, will it wipe out the websites I have created? I have a problem with program hanging resulting in an inability to access websites I have created. Hours of work will be lost and I'm afraid to take a chance of re-installing because I don't know the consequences. If you can't help or have an answer, no problem but I know I can ask the question of you. Thanks

The PC version has been out for awhile but it doesn't install properly on W10...go figure. Good idea but just cost me a couple hours down time trying to install and then having to roll back my system. Go with BITNAMI WAMP stack. More complex install but so stable and works.
