i personally don't use a mouse because i play on a laptop
i use j to boost
k to jump
and l to powerdrift
and space to see the ball
i know kb lacks in control bindings but it is soo easy to use compared to controller

Is controller that much better than keyboard? I main k&m and whenever I played ranked I dont lose often.

im KBM and cant get past diamond 1. ive dipped into D2 but i always fall back down to d1 or plat 3. my boys i play with always hovered the same rank on KBM. they made the switch to controller. one is champ 1 now, other is d3. i know you can still get to GC on KBM but there are some things you just cant do on KBM that you can do on controller. one thing i have a lot of trouble with is fast flying. i tend to "dead zone" a lot becuase i cant get the long mechanical key stroked to return to neutral as fast as my finger move. im thinking a default oem keyboard would make this much easier since they have much shorter keystrokes.anyone else have 2 cents to throw in here?

I've peaked at Champ I on controller and about a month of playing on kbm has gotten me to d3, I've made progress 12x quicker than on controller

Why do people use the mouse? Wouldn't you cover more keys just using the keyboard?

What i love is that i still have the coordination from getting diamond back in s6 or 7 before free to play. Now if my controller dcs or does some random bs or breaks i can still play at a champ 2ish level in 2s and 3s on a smurf. Might even get good enough to play at my actual rank some day.

I just tried this as a champ 3/gc1 player and hit plat 1 before losing, lost my second at plat 3. Fun challenge though! But it feels so smooth on controller idk how anyone can do kbm only

funny thing i had to go through, my ps4 controller broke (all of my 2000 hours at the time were in the controller) and since i am not rich i decided to start playing on kbm, my peak rank was gc2 1617 with controller, and given my situation i HAD to get used to it, so even though i felt nerfed without a controller, i was comfortably competing with gc1s with game sense alone (and experience with kbm in other games) i peaked at 1570 with kbm with no mechanics, ngl that made me feel like gc1 is a joke at this point, i just started playing with a controller again with 2300 hours, i am peaking again.

Im GC2 (former 1600 average before gc changed from 1515) and hit champ 2 solo back then on kbm. My mechanics were horrible though.
