Emudeck works amazing on chimera it takes 3 copy paste commands in the terminal and then it works exactly like the steam deck, I wish chimera came with a kde desktop option

Other than the CPU (I'm planning for the 7800X3D.) This is pretty the build I want to do for Chimera OS for a console like experience. Glad to see how good it preforms.

I've almost the same config, jut a little less powerful (5900x instead of the mighty 7950x) running under Fedora 38, and every games are flying on this.
Linux gaming is such a fresh breeze :)

Strange Horizon Zero Dawn runs as fast on my Windows 11, as on my Pop OS (Linux),
that with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Radeon RX 6800, and 32GB 4000MHz RAM.

So yeah something is not ok if you do not get the max.

The only thing i would have changed, is the CPU, and buy the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D,
and if this was mostly only a Game-PC, i would have changed the CPU for the AMD

You should try the Nobara SteamOS clone. You can actually use corectrl with it unlike chimera so you can OC and undervolt your card for even more performance

Can you stream from your desktop to steamdeck using steam link under Linux? I use this facility all the time on windows, albeit with moonlight.

Nowadays, Linux is an amazing operating system that has made my already good PC a lot faster. I love how it's not Microsoft's computer but rather your own.

why not just use big picture mode in windows? it looks just like the steam deck UI and you don’t have to emulate anything....

I use ubuntu, but if you primary use your computer for games, why wouldn't you do this? You save money on a Windows license, and the interface is built to play games.

I recommend trying out pika os KDE edition it's like if you took steam is and just turned it into a larger screen designed os akin to windows but it does all set up out of box and steam pre installed and everything you need

I really hope in the near future, a Linux OS replaces MS Windows for gaming and productivity. Windows is just too damn bloated and I'm starting to hate it.

This is a BADASS rig.

ChimeraOS is a good option for a dual boot gaming computer, it will let you find out what OS each of your games run the best on.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one crazy enough to build a decked out all AMD build with Chimera OS! I went with more of a sffpc console like build using the fractal ridge case, 7800x3d, and 7900xtx. I'd love to see more benchmarks for games like GoW, Cyberpunk, and Spiderman Remastered to compare numbers. Good stuff!

I've been really enjoying Chimera OS on my AyaNeo Air, but I haven't been able to get the hang of their custom retro game emulation solution. Any chance you might be able to give us a short tutorial on that?

My question for Chimera users is can you utilize discord? what about Xbox party chat? More preferably discord? and how easy is it for you to tab in and out of a game to go back into discord?
