yeah! just got mine, will be interesting to see
ОтветитьQuestion for any Syntakt owners out there! In a world where the M8 is on backorder for the foreseeable future, I'm considering buying a Syntakt and strapping a battery pack to it as something to travel with and still be able to make music.
Would you consider bringing the Syntakt on a trip as a small, standalone way to make music? Is the lack of a song mode a deal breaker? Does the box get too hot to sit comfortably in your lap outdoors?
Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!
Dude LOVE this collab! Surco is the man!!!
ОтветитьSo helpful! This video has changed my life! 🤪
ОтветитьAwesome collection of tips. Quick question, if I wanted to further distort my Syntakt and add distortion effects, I was wondering if you thought the below setup was ideal:
- Audio out L into pedal, back in through the In on L, bring in the distorted audio that way
Holy sibilance
ОтветитьCool 😎
ОтветитьBecause the Digitact and the Digitone have been out for such a long time, it is hard for first time Elektron Syntakt users to find all the stuff you need to know because the experienced users often forget to demo important features which they themselves are already super familiar with. This video is very helpful with the new fx block but also with some old features, I really had no idea about how the sound pool was supposed to be used, and the separate pattern mutes are also a bit hidden. Thanks Surco and Bo, for the good explanations and the enthusiasm.
ОтветитьI love this Machine.
I am NOT a Professional
I thought I spent too much just to mess around
...But, Jesus.
I feel like I can go Pro. Perform.
Bcus IT MAKES SENSE.
And NOW ya give these TIPS.
I'm inspired even more
Worth every Penny
Two of my favourite artists in one episode. Awesome!!!
ОтветитьThat first tip for using the FX track for transitions is so smart, I don't know why I didn't consider that before (besides using it to filter fade out everything at the end or use the overdrive). Recording a filter sweep or delay/reverb automations is really useful!
ОтветитьThis made my day!!! Can’t wait to get home and put all these techniques to task!!
ОтветитьNever was interested in the Syntakt, but this video has got me GASsing 🤣eventually will make it over to the Elektron dark side lol. Great tips no matter what gear you're using tho! Just got the polyend play, so can't wait to see your vid on that!
Ответитьthere are some pretty nice tricks in this video, especially for people who never used an elektron device before. thanks to both of you!
ОтветитьGreat stuff, guys! Thanks for sharing your tips -- very helpful while trying to wrap my head around everything you can do with this machine.
ОтветитьThe fx ducking! Soooo helpful. Definitely using that on the next track. Gracias 🦖
ОтветитьGreat video! Extra tip on using the FX block for transitions: Instead of changing the routing of the tracks (like you do at 2'45) it is much easier to mute / unmute the fx block to activate it.
I currently use the FX block like this: All tracks except 1 and 9 (which I use for kick and snare) are routed to the FX block. During a break I mute both mute the kick & the FX block so that the side chaining disappears when the kick is not played. This of course depends on your music style, but it works like charm for my stuff.
Top good !
ОтветитьNice video!!
ОтветитьThese guest videos are good, you should do more like this.
ОтветитьAwesome 👍🙏
ОтветитьAmazing to see Eric here! Thank you guys for great Syntakt tips.
Ответитьthank you for the tips, keep them coming!
ОтветитьVery nice!
Had the Syntakt for a while. I like it a lot and make track after track with it, but I find it sometimes hard to really bring all the sounds together (since the analog voices do not have a base width filter). I'll definitely use the FX Block Transition in the next track :) (Was shying away from enabling the FX while a pattern is running since I always heard audible clicks, but in your demo it sounded smooth, so it might just be the particular sounds I've used. Or maybe I have a faulty unit, that would suck. Time to find out!)
Hey Bo, would you recommend the Syntakt or Roland TR8s for drums. I recently got the Syntakt, like it, but wonder if TR8s is better for drums. Thanks!
ОтветитьI'm so glad to see this type of tips & tricks for the Syntakt. Through the last 27 years I went from software setup, to hardware setup , then back to software setup. I'm not planning to get to full hardware setup again and I only have 2 hardware left, the old Roland JV-1080 and recently the Syntakt. I bought the Syntakt for one single thing: get back to the roots with pattern sequenced music and live performances. What I do also like about a machine like the Syntakt, is the limitations that comes with it. Limitations is key to creativity I think. Thanks for this video !
Ответитьgreat video! I loved the FX Block Transition tip # 1
ОтветитьGreat stuff, thanks to both of you. I didn't know #12!
ОтветитьLove the microfreak poster
ОтветитьSomeone enlighten me: How is an "Effects Block" different from an "Effects Send"?? I don't understand how the Syntakt's effects differ from the Digi's.
Ответитьgreat tips, thank you. But I tried to record automation for the FX Track, buts not working. Do I have to setup something else?
ОтветитьThanks guys for a dozen inspiring tips
ОтветитьHi
I have a Pocket Operator. Can i Connect the syntakt with and Play my Samples from PO to Syntakt?
Sorry for my Bad english and thanks for help me
La piste d'effets, c'est vraiment un super ajout de la part d'Elektron. Merci pour les tips, ça m'a pas mal inspiré !
ОтветитьCan you sequence and "duck" the external input? My idea here is to be able to apply this effect to my external synths too.
ОтветитьI came for 10 Syntakt tips, but stayed for 12
ОтветитьI know they're pretty much apples and oranges, but could you/would you do a video comparing the Model Cycles to the Syntakt?
ОтветитьHey Bo what would you recommend for a drum machine that is good for aggressive industrial kinds of sounds ?
ОтветитьGreat video both!
Ответитьis it really the common case to have a sound pool for a dedicated step trig lock to choose from? I mean the sound pool should be used as a sound choice for a dedicated track, but this is not the way it works. So here are a lot of misunderstandings how the sound pool is applied. And finally there is the +Drive, which makes it more complicated. The manual is explaning each item, but is not explaining for what is meant for. 🙂
ОтветитьThanks so much for having me as a part of Summer of Synths!
