My friends, Little Anthony and the Imperials was one of the great 60's vocal groups. As he got older Anthony could still belt it out.
ОтветитьSock hop in the gym after school! I can almost smell the Clearasil!
ОтветитьGive a listen to the Capris doing 'There's a moon out tonight ' and also The Marcels' doing 'Blue Moon'. Great Doo-Wop songs and you've enjoyed 50s and 60s music in the past.
ОтветитьNow y’all gotta do more of there music. Then you must hear Frankie Lyman and. The teenagers!
Everyone has already told you that was the one and only Dick Clark
I saw Anthony inn concert last year and he still has the voice in his 80's
ОтветитьThose old school artists performed with so much class.
ОтветитьYou must do Hurt So Bad ❤
ОтветитьAmerican Bandstand. You should Google it.
ОтветитьDiscovered this song thanks to the movie version of "Grease". Great song, lol!
ОтветитьOk you need to listen to Carmen celebrate Jesus, excellent performance has that 50s sound
ОтветитьThe crowd was screaming in delight. So fun to see ...thanks
ОтветитьKylie minogue sang this song xxx
ОтветитьBetter use your head is still played on the Northern Soul scene in England, a timeless classic.
ОтветитьAnd now Little Stevie Wonder?
ОтветитьI like how they reject being called “Doo Wop”- they call what they do (justly), “rock-n-roll”
ОтветитьDid you hear that crowd! Woohoo!
ОтветитьAmber, you'd get a kick out of "Shimmy, Shimmy, Ko-Ko-Bop"
ОтветитьHi Ms. Amber and Mr. Jay Rob Squad Reactions, This is My All Time Favorite Lowrider Music and Songs I love This Kind of Music from the 60s. You Got To Play This Type Of Music for now on. I Really Love This 60s Music like if you are playing a Jukebox in a Restaurants.
ОтветитьTears on My Pillow was sung on Grease
Ответить❤❤❤song thank you made me feel silk melting my heart that smile and flip hair Doo on little Anthony yum you guys should dress up in 50s cloths for Halloween video
ОтветитьEvery time I hear this music, it reminds me of my mom - I miss you mom.
ОтветитьAmerican Bandstand was the show, ran all the way from the 50s to the 80s! Dick Clark (the host) was nicknamed "the world's oldest teenager "😂
ОтветитьDoo-Wop at its finest. This is definitely poodle skirt/soda shop music😊….
ОтветитьIn the film grease I believe sha na na covered this for it, not 100% but I know they have done this song
ОтветитьJay... That is my favorite guy Lil' Anthony❤
ОтветитьOf you fancy the oldies; I'll suggest "I Love How You Love Me" by the Paris Sisters, and "There's No Other Like My Baby" by the Crystals....i can go on and on with 50s and 60s!!
ОтветитьThat was the legendary Dick Clark of American Bandstand. It was a big deal to be on his show. He famously interviewed a young, mysterious lad, Prince and brought all kinds of stars recognition. He’d later do his New Year’s Rocking Eve and was Ryan Seacrest’s inspiration. Seacrest’s now hosts Clark’s New Year’s Eve. Clark also used to produce all the American Music Awards
ОтветитьLittle Anthony and the Imperials were the top doo-wop group of the pre-British Invasion era. Anthony Gourdine is still performing these fabulous songs that were mostly written by the legendary Teddy Randazzo.
ОтветитьThis song was released in 1959, and Little Anthony(Gourdine) was 18; the Impreials were Clarence "Wa-hoo" Collins, Ernest Wright, Gloster "Nate" Nathaniel Rogers and Tracy Lord.
ОтветитьWhat is going on with Amber!!!! You are looking gorgeous!!!!!
ОтветитьMy dad was a founding member of the group... check out "Going out of my head" and "you better use your head"
Ответить1 track i can think of, is Better use your head, a must listen
ОтветитьThe first singer I fell for (I may have been about 10), Jackie Wilson. Please check out Lonely Teardrops. Just looked up the date 1959. I was 9 😊
ОтветитьI love this song! It always reminds me of the dance scene in Grease! The doo wop groups where the best of the fifties! 💖💖
ОтветитьThere is just SOMETHING about the way he vocalizes "...tears on my pillow...." that makes the song so sweet.
ОтветитьDoo Woop at it's best !!
ОтветитьGood to hear some real vintage music. Great vocals from Little Anthony. Another classic song would be “Little Darlin” by the Diamonds. You absolutely will be floored!
ОтветитьThe song features in the hit movie Grease and Kylie Minogue covered this song in the 80s and had a massive UK No1 hit.
ОтветитьOne of my all time favorite songs of the 50s....... I was probably in 8th grade then. This and In The Still of the Night by the Five Satins were often the last songs played at the end of a school dance...... Great music back then. Exactly Amber.... perfect Doo Wop voice and song....
ОтветитьThey played this song in the movie Grease during the National Bandstand scene
ОтветитьI love your site. However, I wish you would play the songs all the way through before commenting on it. Then you could go back and critique it. I just get into the flow of the song and then, bam...you stop it😢
ОтветитьI've loved you guys over the years . . . and today I'm subscribing fo sho! Definitely, y'all are THE BEST. Great chemistry between y'all. My guy is total energy, my girl is totally sensitive. Great combo!
Ответитьlittle anthony was one of my sisters and her friends favorite singer i remember hearing them listneing to there album i also love his amazing voice one of the greatest singers ever
ОтветитьGreat to hear this song again. I remember buying it on a 45 (You're too young to know what one of them was.) back in England when I was a teenager. In those days there was only one radio station in England, and they refused to play 'Rock' music. We teenagers used to listen to Radio Luxembourg which, from 6pm for a few hours, had programmes sponsored by US record companies and would play all the latest hits from the States. I loved the 'doo-wop' groups; Little Anthony/Imperials, The Castells, Regents, Marcels, Monotones, even the 'white' ones like Danny/Juniors, and the greatest of them all; The Platters. great music all of them.
ОтветитьForeshadowing: Disingenuousness vs. inner sadness... (not the song)
ОтветитьI am Little Anthony's eldest son. Thank you for reacting to my father's song, Tears On My Pillow. It's great to see the younger generations finding his songs. Go down the rabbit hole and check out his other hits; Hurt So Bad, Goin Out of My Head, Just Two Kinds of People (acapella), etc.
ОтветитьOne of the first songs I ever remember hearing back in the 50s. I saw him at a nostalgia show in the 80s. No autotune. Just pure talent!
ОтветитьYou never heard of American Bandstand? It's an American institution! EVERYBODY was on it, from the 50's through the 60's and beyond!
ОтветитьDick Clark American band stand ever Saturday morning at noon for over 25 years
