Perfection.
ОтветитьI am just so so so sorry that I did not appreciate this amazing music until I REALLY listened to it recently. My hubby is a big fan. I am 55...I was a mere 10 years old when this song was released. It will live FOREVER!! I A big regret is that I did not go see them when I had several opportunities to. :(
ОтветитьThis is so authentic, so pure, simply bliss, the solo goes beyond anything words can ever describe, they are the true artists.
ОтветитьLEGEND!
ОтветитьNO COMMENTS, JUST SHOCKED
ОтветитьThe atmosphere created, the silhouette. The sound, every time I come across this clip I uave to play it until the very end.
And no mobiles spoiling the view....
what the f*ck I have just seen?
ОтветитьThis solo perfection made by genius David Gilmore will be listening 🎶 even in 24th century...this masterpiece will live forever ❤
ОтветитьThat's what truly defines a musician, not attempting to overplay everything, but instead, feeling the music deeply and playing each note to perfection.
ОтветитьIt staggers the brain to think that it has been 30 years since I saw them play. Sunday June 26,1994. BC Place Stadium, Vancouver BC. 6th row. Dead center. This song was the apex all my concert experiences before or after. I'm so very grateful for David Gilmour and for that experience.
ОтветитьThe best guitar solo ever. Discuss !
ОтветитьI was fortunate to see the Pulse concert at Vanderbilt Stadium in TN. My roommate at the time worked at the TN Performing Arts Center and was able to get us weekend jobs building scaffolds for the speaker stands for the surround sound. We got to watch the show and then start taking it all apart. The experience of the show was worth more than I got paid (union scale plus food!). The best word I can use to describe seeing this show live would be "transcendent." It remains one of the greatest experiences of my life.
ОтветитьSimplemente un grandioso espectáculo! Genios
ОтветитьThey should have cut the mike of the backup singer. That sounded horrible.
ОтветитьDo you guys know what this song is about?
Have you ever watched the MOVIE that goes with this song?
It’s regarding drug use during The Holocaust.
Consistently voted the best guitar solo of all time. I couldn’t agree more.

ОтветитьFolks...this is as good as it gets...it's all downhill from here.
ОтветитьNo se avergüencen, así es la poesía, hace llorar de emoción. David Gilmour el poeta de las cuerdas.

ОтветитьIf you are not moved by this, there is no hope, absolutely spellbinding
ОтветитьThat solo deserves an Armani suit.
ОтветитьNow that is how you
end a show .
Keep them wanting for more.
David is always bathed in white light when he plays and/or sings. Otherwise he's under subdued lighting.
ОтветитьHere in 2024, it's been 30 years since this performance now, and nothing better has been found among the older recordings or done by the newer musicians and bands. What can it mean?
ОтветитьOf course the 2nd solo IS the best guitar solo of all time. But the 1st one also has a magic to it. It is definetly in my top 15 for sure
ОтветитьThe feeling of snapping back to the real world after this song ends and the realization that your soul just got out of your body without you noticing it until it was over
ОтветитьOk, hear me out.
This song is not just about falling (or having fallen) into Madness. It's about Life and Death, the whole cycle, but not the way we learn it to be. Well, ok, I guess that does make it about falling into Madness, in a way.
So, in the beginning there are dead-serious cautionary sounds. It sounds rich and powerful because there is a whole life ahead of you and the whole Universe to conquer and you're gonna make it, You Da Man, but being young an inexperienced, you really don't get the undertones. When you're older and reflect on it you actually realise it was a spooky premoition of the shit to come, but now it signals power and strength. And in the background the audience cheers because they don't really understand.
Then, as you grow up and move through life, there appears a glimmer (a Gilmour, ba-dum-tss, I'll show myself out) of hope, you've lifted-off and are now fully emerged in life, the voice is beautiful, the first solo is optimistic and that underlying spooky four-chord rhythm from the first part is gone. It's spring, the Sun is shining, birds are chirping, life is moving along nicely.
Then there start coming realisations that things aren't going to be as sweet and fruity as you thought and that four-chord thing in the background is back and is starting to bug you, you feel there's actually a deeper meaning behind it, you just have to dig through it to find some meaning. It's there, on the tip of your tongue, a fleeting glimpse in the corner of your eye, but every time you turn to look, it's gone, but nevermind, let's see what the future brings.
Then, again, another change of tone back to optimistic, a realisation, life isn't what you thought, but you're older (shorter of breath and one day closer to death), also more experienced and you understand things, you now know that life is what you make of it, there is realistic optimism because universe is huge, you can go anywhere, the possibilities seem to be endless, you have knowledge, you are independent, you are whole, it's gonna be good, probably, and if it gets bad, you'll pull through. And the audience cheers because neither you or them really have a clue.
And then the second solo hits and at first it's beautiful, and it really is, and this "at first" is misguiding because it's never going to stop being beautiful, only change in tone. However, those damn background four chords are hitting harder and the front row siren song is getting real, you realise the sirens are not singing, they are wailing and it hits you: the four-chord thing is a fucking FUNERAL MARCH and it's relentlessly hitting every second, every minute, undertoning everything, enveloping and engulfing everything, chipping away your life speck by speck, but by bit, and now you can't stop hearing it. The beautiful song goes on and on but now you know it's a song of pain and despair, of loneliness and realisation that everything really means nothing and you start the Understand. Then there is a moment when the light turns on, the huge crystal ball in the sky shows you everything and you look around and realise: what the fuck, THIS?
And the audience is cheering because it is an epiphany, it's big, bright and shiny and they are crying from emotion, but really, they have no fucking clue.
So the song becomes louder, the funeral march doesn't care and marches on like a clockwork, it really, really doesn't care, bit by bit by bit toward its end, the sound becomes one beautiful scream of Agony Over Everything, of all-pervading truth, the last dying breath turned into an explosion, then the last few notes, perfectly precise because there's nothing to hide anymore... and then you die.
And the audience cheers as they've never cheered before. Because. They. Have. No. Fucking. Clue.
30 year anniversary of the release of PULSE. Absolutely best show ever recorded. R.I.P Richard Wright. Forever in our hearts!
ОтветитьPerfection
ОтветитьThis incredible song is as relevant today in 2024 , as it was in 1994.
It is truly brilliant beyond words .
What a masterpiece of Music .
The guitar speaks. Listen to it and imagine the guitar is speaking to you in its own language.
