I just love this video. I just had a baby and am currently losing the weight. I'm definitely doing to do this exercise once I'm back down so I can make sure the clothes fit well and work for my body type.

An area I find challenging is now that I might only need a suit 6x/year, I don’t want to (more should I permit advice here) invest in three suits but I also don’t want to wear the same thing every time it’s required - partly because I get sick of it and partly because the “suit occasions” tend to involve the same people. Same dilemma with date night outfits. The other one is zoom outfits. You only see my head and shoulders, so even when I mix and match and accessorize, you’re still only seeing a few different tops on repeat. I need to rebuild my wardrobe almost from scratch and feel a bit lost even with your many helpful videos in mind. At least I know enough to think critically before buying!

You explained the capsule concept very well. You explained the logic of it really clearly. Demonstrating by switching pieces showing us the cohesiveness of it all was terrific. Great job.

I've been working with capsule wardrobes for a few years now by season, since I live in an area with 4 seasons. I still struggled when making decisions and buys for that capsule. I've even bought workbooks to help me! Watching this finally made it click together. Gosh you are just the best. This is the best and most educational capsule wardrobe video I have ever seen. Just like you touched upon in your video, most videos like this just tells you what you should get for your capsule wardrobe, but does not tell you how to think about it and adjust it to your own lifestyle. Why not black as a foundational color?

Since we’re being honest: shopping is HARD for me

I found this video very helpful. Thank you. I've recently retired from a corporate job where my wardrobe was based on dark neutrals (black, grey and navy) with accents of color. I like / love color and focused on what works with my coloring (fair, cool) vs. what forms a base and mixes well. Hence I have (probably) too many colors (cool shades of blue, rose, purple and green) that don't play well together and very few light neutrals. I've tried lighter neutrals and come away feeling they wash me out, particularly anything that skews camel, creamy or beige. I'd love a video on light neutrals ...... shades, particularly those that suit fair, cool types, among others. Different ways of wearing them (sweater, jacket, shell, blouse, etc.). Can accessories help? Also, are there ways to incorporate light neutrals to lighten an outfit without the item being next to your face? Whether you are able to do this or not, I find your videos enormously helpful and will continue to watch. I am a big fan!!.

I can be wrong but I think grey looks really good on me. I prefer light grey to white. My eyes are denimblue, grey and a little brown.

I absolutely love your videos!! I’ve lost 75 pounds (have about 5 more to lose) and I’m now a US size 6 😳😎 which I have NEVER BEEN in my nearly 45 years! Through this process I’ve had to buy lots of new clothes. I’m finding it hard to first find my style! I work for the government but work from home right now but at some point will go back to office one day a week. It’s the “clothes in your lifestyle” I’m struggling with. Do you have any advice for someone who keeps changing shape? Not add/lose weight just weight distribution? I never can wear key pieces for long.

This is very helpfull. I have too different trousers e.g. skinny jeans, baggy trousees, long skirt...they need specific tops. So that way it doesn't work. Thank for the insight.

Holy cow, this has been exactly my problem! It never occured to me to stick to same colors in different styles. How does one start to fix this without throwing it all out and starting from scratch? You have really helped me over the last couple of years to curate my wardrobe. I mostly wear casual clothes and most of the time nobody really sees me in my everyday clothes but my family. Mi am a full time caregiver to one of my children. What I had a hard time with is outfits for special occasions and when I get a week off and go out of town. I felt I had nothing to wear and the. Reality was I didn’t. I had a mix of things I had purchased over the years that didn’t really go together or didn’t fit anymore. So if something came up I would have to run out and buy something and I would grab whatever fit and then it wouldn’t be worn again and probably didn’t go with anything else I had. The hardest part has been I’m in my early 50’s and about 99% of the time I am having a hot flash and wish I wasn’t wearing anything. 😂. Because of you and your videos I have a better understanding of how to fit my changing body and what will work for me and what won’t. I now have four pairs of neutral slacks of different fabric weights for the different seasons. I have long sleeved and short sleeved neutral tops of different fabrics for the different seasons. I am still working on my shoes. For the most part I am in my running shoes. 😂. Sorry for my rambling I just want to say thank you for all of your great tips and information. I felt clueless about fashion for the last ten years and you have made me feel more confident. 🤗💜🫶🏻😃

Are these clothes you would be wearing for years? I really want to upgrade my wardrobe but it’s a slow process because I want quality but I really don’t have funds to get many pieces at the same time. I have a list of things I want.

I can wear white and mushroom but no yellowy beiges, well nothing yellow at all except a lemonny one. I did a colour evaluation years ago and still have the booklet with swatches. Excellent advice as I am one of those with too many colours. So I will be sorting and throwing out this year as I am moving and decluttering. I make my own clothes so really can easily adjust, throw out and remake. I was classified as a winter so the cooler, darker colours but I find now that my hair is silver, the cooler pastel colours work as well as the cooler darker colours. I definitely have too many "smarter" clothes when I should have more good casual clothes. But awesome video thanks

I would like you to show a capsule wardrobe on your rack with navy, gray, and white. I look horrible in tan, browns, camels and creams!

I've always thought I was too large to wear lighter colors; I've bought a few but never wore them. I once went to visit my boyfriend's family a few hours away and when he saw my clothes hung up in the closet, he said it looked like I was attending a funeral. It's been a hard habit to break.

By color, by type of piece (pants together, blouses together), by “occasion” (business/casual/dressy/athleisure/date night)? I have a heathy mix of multi season classic pieces in white, cream, tan/camel, brown, navy, burgundy, gray and black. I need to organize effectively 😬
