If you put graphene as a "lubrican"in a piece of graphene carbon fiber or steel, and press/heat it over a long period of time, like over 100 tons, it eventually will fill any cracks and harden the area it's in.

In an O Neil Cylinder, it should not Only Fill In Any Cracks that form, but Over Time, it should fill in any cracks and self heal, While Becoming Stronger.

Ability to withstand over 100-120 Tons Per Square Inch.

Think About That. And Half That in the Other Direction, Something Concrete Can't Do (Being Compressed And Sheared)

As a QA, I’m going to have to reject your first article of carbon fiber due to delamination sir.

Even if you had five foot diameter industrial cables sandwiched in a matrix like that, it should be able to bear similar amount of weight.
Especially if you use graphene carbon fiber in everything.

Imagine you had 5 foot diameter cables acting as the threads in that carbon fiber block.
If you made an O’Neill cylinder out of cables like that and made a basket, and then just sandwiched everything like scaled up version of that block, it would be incredibly strong!

Look at the threads in that block. And then just scale it up. Just think of 5 foot diameter cables acting as thread in that block.

Scale.

Wow. I did know that Carbon Fiber is extremely durable, but that it gets up to 90 Tons (!!!!!!!!) is absolutely ridiculous. I need a controller out of Carbon Fiber lol.

Ok to the engineers out there, why do objects fail in shear? Like in simple terms.

The very first clip of the wooden block shows a perfectly flat block but it doesnt compress like a spring but instead it shears. Why?

The solid carbon fiber block held out well under the hydraulic press, but let’s see how well it does if there’s a 1/2” horizontal hollow in the carbon fiber block to simulate the Titanic sub’s hull.

Wow, watching that hydraulic press delaminate carbon fiber is almost as intense as the recent Oceangate incident! I guess both situations show that even the strongest materials can’t withstand extreme pressure. But on the bright side, at least the hydraulic press didn’t cause an international incident.

After the first exposure to extreme stress, carbon fiber parts should be replaced. It's already compromised.
