Jesus said "your own prophet," referring to David!
ОтветитьElectric guitars!!!!!
ОтветитьBravo! Amazing commentary. I remember reading this psalm several year ago, when I was a baby Christian, and couldn't believe that it's part of the Tanakh.
ОтветитьWas Ruth's marriage consummated or still a betrothal?
Ответитьthis is his opinion, the book of Isaiah tells us threw the whole book, thar it says Israel, is my servant, G-d is the king of the the universe. king David is the prince and shepherd of my people, read Ezekiel 34:25. it is right there, again he is giving his opinions.
ОтветитьPsalms are not messianic in anyway, if they would were, I think all jews would be in church now. But also I think jews know their own writings the best, and its meanings. Context tells ONLY David's sufferings and it is quit obvious if you just read the text about David. Yes, David was great but also had major, as big as itself, problems and threads. Psalms are only messianic, if you views those by christology eyes
ОтветитьPeter described the Messianic prophecies as "the sufferings of the Christ and the glories to follow." This follows the pattern Peter mentioned: sufferings turning into glory. The same pattern shows up in Isaiah 52-54. Sufferings followed by glory.
ОтветитьThat second half, when it mentions the nations of the world coming to the King ... sounds like it is right out of the Book of Revelation.
ОтветитьI love you Yeshua ❤ You are life. Thank you One for Israel ❤
ОтветитьI always re-watch this! Awesome job!
One other point - in verse 13, we see the phrase Like/as a lion and it also contains a verb - also notice, the hebrew for like a lion in verse 13 looks alot different than the altered ka'ari - why would David not use a verb in verse 16/17 when he clearly uses a verb in verse 13? Why would he use a different translation for like a lion in verse 13 than he would in verse 16? Makes no sense, other than, the masoretes altered the Psalm in 10th century.
This psalm brought me out of a season of doubt. When I walked on the edge of atheism, God brought me to Psalm 22 ❤️
ОтветитьThis lesson was brilliantly laid out. Thank you!

Luke 8:16-17
16 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.
Shalom..🕊🎶✝️ ✡️ 💜 🪔⚔️🛡🇮🇱🇦🇺
While I was dying I met an angel who had me read this psalm if I wanted to live. Here I am today.
ОтветитьThis is a tremendous interview! I love this kind of analysis and careful reading of the text and its structure. VERY well done and seriously helpful. MORE. We want MORE!
ОтветитьPsalm 17 & 22 or both? Eli, Eli, Lmana Sabachthani - translated in the bible as My God (El) My God (El) why have You forsaken Me!?
This Quote is Yeshua speaking in Aramaic, not in hebrew, which would mean Yeshua is saying “My El, My El, for this I was kept - (This was my destiny or I was born for this.)”
If He had used Hebrew, He would have used the word “NASHATANI” which means “forsaken me”.
Using the word SABACHTHANI (Sabacktani) Yeshua was using the Aramaic language meaning “kept me”. Which refers to Psalm 17:4 “Concerning the works of men, by the Word of thy lips I have KEPT ME from the paths of the destroyer.” (read chapter) making more sense of his death, burial and resurrection for our salvation which He fulfilled.
**Notice Psalm 17:4 uses “I” and “ME” in the same statement.**KJV
Maybe it's both Psalm 17 & 22 ...? I'm still learning...
Thank you🇨🇭🇫🇮💙❤

✉very interesting ♥️
Jesus prayed often while here on earth & yet little is shared in the New Testament of his prayers. But read the psalms and you will hear his voice calling out to His Father over and over . Words attributed to David that David was often not “qualified” to speak because they were not truly David’s experiences. But David spoke on prophecy many of the actual prayers of Jesus . Ps 22 is where I first discovered this. A careful study of all the Psalms reveals many more that could only be the experience of Christ.
Hint: David could never call himself sinless, blameless or without sin, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God . Read carefully & you will hear the heart of our Savior as He communes with His Father .
Shabbat SHALOM
David appointed thousands of levies specially descendants of Korah to continually sing, play instruments and prophecy... They worked 8 hour shifts. 3 shifts in 24 hrs for 24/7. I can imagine the glory of God streaming down from heaven and fill the temple
This discussion was/is a timely one for me. A number of weeks back, while I was awaiting inmates to join a Prison Fellowship Canada meeting that I host biweekly, I was reading Ps 22 to which I was captured by the idea that this was the gospel laid out, and the similarities with what we read in the new testament. Needless to say, I stumblds across this video and it really help me to tie it all together, in prep for my nest meeting. I'm so excited to present this information. Cheers.
ОтветитьIndeed, and the evidence leads people to consider that everything associated with the is a "scripted event". Everything that occurred with the ministry of Jesus Christ, seems to have "been written" in advance. This is what people recognize as "prophecy". It extends credibility to the idea that there were indeed, men and women who possessed unique gifts and special knowledge not always found amongst the majority of the population. As a consequence, modern people can offer a serious consideration to the Bible accounts. It has been factually established that the prophets wrote their descriptive messages hundreds of years in advance of the events in the life of Jesus Christ. Perhaps even more profound, is that it is also promised that Jesus will appear again. (See Mark 13:32)
For those seeking insight into the messages of the Holy Bible, there is cause for study of the promises. [Do I have reason to hope in the promise of Jesus Christ? I think I do.]
Star of David is on the flag of Israel in 2024. It looks like two triangles (Trinity). It also looks like upload/download sign of internet users. Is it amazing that the star of David was designed before Christianity began?
ОтветитьTerrible misquote, completely taken out of context.
ОтветитьWhen I found out about psalm 22 I knew Jesus never doubted. The fact that Bart Ehrman doesn’t think Jesus referenced psalm 22 on the cross because he’s not quoting latter lines boggles the mind.
ОтветитьCUT THE MUSIC it’s too much

ОтветитьWow I love this... thank you Dr. Postell :)
Ответитьcould it be that David suffered the stigmata like saints in our past?
ОтветитьI made a short about psalm 22. It's akin to amazing Grace. Just way before that time!

ОтветитьPsalm 22, beautiful, I know a chorus about this Psalm in Spanish. And the chorus say He live in the praise and if you praise Him you will rejoice. ❤

Shalom and blessings to you all at One for Israel it is a blessing to stand with Israel at this time so thank you again for the wonderful treasures from Heaven.🙏♥️🇮🇱
ОтветитьUndeniable
ОтветитьThank-you for this masterful interpretation of Ps 22. In the past I have memorized chapters of the book of Hebrews and while I trusted in the text, I puzzled over why Jesus would talk about proclaiming God's name to his brethren, and about singing God's praises in the congregation. Now I understand. This is a reference to Ps 22 and the use of the word "brethren" there.
Re the "forsaken" part, I am not satisfied that this is merely meant to be a reference...Could it not be that while Jesus knew he would suffer for the sins of the world (Is 53 etc) it may have been kept from him that his Father would turn His face away at a point in time? That it is not a cry of doubt but of surprise? Could it not be that he was not only forsaken by God but also experienced this forsakenness? That it did not shake his faith is clear from his committing his spirit into God's hands moments later. I would find it hard to view a cry like this as being merely "cosmetic". Also, as for David, he did not stay in his forsaken mode during the times of his suffering. We know that he "kept the faith to the end". At any rate, I will never read this Psalm the same way after this wonderful, insightful interpretation. Thank-you so much.
AMEN!
ОтветитьHi brother ’s SHALOM,, when I get THE HOLY WORD & READ IT UP FOR A 1'-TIME PSALM 22:1+ I CRY OUT HOW WE'RE doing this @LL DENIAL ON HIM, IT HIT ME LIKE HAMER ON MY HEAD 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️😅🗣️. I'm ASKING FORGIVENESS for all my FAR away 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I Was,... AMEN
ОтветитьInstead of the s**ually charged words that so stampede over our minds your future guests might use another word. There are several poignant ones that come to mind which don't distract 😢.
ОтветитьThe Old Testament is the mirror .The New Testament is Reality He is looking back at himself in the mirror.
ОтветитьThere is another video I can't remember the name of it. He that created the video speaks fluent Aramaic and he says this "My God, My God sentence is wrongly translated. He says nothing of God forsaken him.
Same as Jesus said to Peter "All authority is given onto you , It should be "what you bound in earth is bound in heaven"
It is possible that the author of this psalm and others was not actually David, but rather Samuel. Samuel was the recognized prophet in Israel and he often communed with the Lord, intimately and it is possible that he received a vision or another type of revelation and that he disclosed it to David, upon hearing it is possible that David composed the music to highligh the salient parts of the prophecy. It must have also resonated with him since he was indeed surrounded by enemies on all sides. In that context David becomes a type of the suffering Christ.
ОтветитьThe Jews lost the faith and Jesus gave it to the gentiles.
He took the keys from Kayafus and gave them to Peter.
