Which DAW Is Best? The Final Showdown

I use Studio One Artist because it came with my interface. I'm not a professional producer at all, but I like it a lot. After the learning curve, it's super streamlined and easy to use. I especially like how easy it is to program midi drums in it. Reaper is great considering you can technically have it for free permanently, and I like it's tweakability, but I can't stand the drum programming.

IMO Studio One is really easy, it's really intuitive, but I switched to Reaper since that's what my band uses for recording and live.

Great presentation, horrible misinformation. Logic has bad “file management?” So wrong here in so many ways but that is telling of your serious inexperience in the realm you’re attempting to give your opinion on.

The best DAW is the one you truly invested time in learning and that you know how to use.

sup guys, i wanna be prod and makin some yeat/drake/carti beats, i found Amped Studio, it s pretty good i think, if someone can give me some advices how to makin music or tell me about this daw, i apr u so much.

Making great music on and by the time you learn the daw…ya done gave you music…have to go to thousands of tutorials and stuff and still don’t learn squat… keep making image line right while you be confused I

That´s a silling thing that "war DAWS shit." I understand not every DAW fits to everyone because a little detail or other! The best DAW is the one that fit to us. There's no such a thing as the best Daw, because all have pros and cons, but if I have to recommend to everyone, is Ableton Live!

Reaper! My choice

FL Studio is not able to set a negative offset on the sounds. Would be helpful when having orchestral sounds like horns which has a startup time. Does any of the orher daws have negative delay?

I've been a long time Cakewalk user, but with about ten years away using Cubasis on the iPad. I came back to PC a couple of years ago and picked up again with Cakewalk, but the fiddlyness of it is driving me nuts! So, I tried out some others and settled on Reaper, not only because it's cheap, has a great community and is customizable, but because I think of all the companies I've seen making DAWs I trust Cockos more than any other to keep true to their vision. Everyone else seems to be posturing to grab money from musicians.

I am really interested in Reaper. But is there any workaround to more easily use MPE? It doesn't seem set up to use it well at all unless I am missing something (ie no way to configure bend range, no grid or snapping to edit the pitch bends--which are super fiddly when using the standard 48 bend range--other daws let you edit pitch right on the piano roll, etc)

it sounded like you were feeling Reaper the most... and from how you summed it up, Reaper is the way to go. 60 bucks for full version?? Yeuh!

Fl Studio is actually a lit underground DAW that is constantly undermined.

Cubase has the best time stretching algorithms. Better than pro tools imo. I’m considering the switch to cubase. I’m outgrowing ableton.

Someone forgot that Logic and protools is the most popular DAWs in the business, also, as someone who uses Logic, I don’t think you really understand how to use it.

Pro Tools is best cuz I said so.

The fact that he puts LPX last on this list and says its clunky and for amateurs, I can't take his judgment seriously.

Im a Nuendo user in love, and I use Reason racks and Reaper cause its great too, but not Pro tools... I wish I could use ableton for performances, as Maxforlive makes me think outside the dawbox... Pro Tools is just like far from my desires

I make beats in fl and produce in reaper. Simple😅

I switched from acid 7 pro to reaper bout 7 yrs ago. Best decision ever made!

FL studio 21 made it a lot better to record vocals

Ableton is incredibly easy and intuitive
Reaper is incredibly horrendous looking and uselessly complicated, too much digging, like Pro Tools
FL is pretty but a bit confusing

FL STUDIO for beat and music production. PRO TOOLS for recording mix and master

If Reaper can fix their GUI and streamline their menus, it would be the best for music creation but still a little behind Pro Tools for audio editing

I'm a long time FL studio but switched to Ableton a few years ago. FL studio sucks to work on if you only have one small screen like a laptop. So much clicking around it's a madness it really sucks ass now that I'm used to Ableton. 2 clicks in ableton is 400 clicks and window resizes in FL studio

I bought nuendo 12 & cubase pro 12 when I read that Hanz Zimmer uses it..but I've been CONFUSED since I bought it (I'm a beginner producer) 😅

I'm a hobbyist/amateur hard dance producer who uses FL Studio. I enjoy using FL but part of me does want to switch to a different DAW. The feature I use the most in FL is actually a very simple one, the piano roll scale highlighting.

Also the fact that FL includes its own version of an ASIO driver, along with providing ASIO4ALL, is great for those that don't have audio interface hardware.

I can't find any comments about cakewalk, is it that much worse than all of these daws? Why does no one mention it in these daw comparison videos (unless they're only comparing free daws)?

I Agree with FL being awful to record vocals in, no matter how powerfull of a PC you have it always seems to have crazy input lag

Any company that requires a dongle in 2023 is silly… and insecure… I’m a Pro Tools user 17 years deep and the new PT is horrible….

you can time and pitch stretch in a good deal of daws from what i know. logic has flex time which lets you control time and pitch in a bunch of different ways. my friend uses ableton and has the same, i think my friend who has fl can do the same thing
