This is probably a way to market. By giving away free packs, they are bringing more people to or back to their game, therefore earning more money.

I play through epic and I downloaded the dlc and when you play through epic it launches EA & you have access to all purchased dlc through both Epic/EA

I would be more upset if it was forever, but the fact its only for a couple days doesn't bother me as much. if they keep it to old packs, kits, and stuff packs, i don't mind. but if they do it with, say, city living?? I'll be a little upset.

Since Epic games isn’t for consle, we can’t get the free dlcs. I’ve been waiting to get a chance to get a pack and ofc I can’t bc they leave out consle players when it comes to Cc, controls, packs, and debug.

Hey! So, I play on Steam AND EA. I can promise you, the packs transferred over without buying them a second time. It definitely opens better without issues on Steam. 10/10 and would recommend ❤

I appreciate that they want to entice more players, which is great, but knowing I have purchased most of the stuff (Apart from a number of kit packs) I probably won't benefit, unless they decide to do a Kit bundle, of items I am missing.

This is so not okay with me. I am fine, I guess as much as possible, when they made the base game free. I paid $40 for the base game. I get why they made it free, but like, why not make it significantly cheaper? Just $10 for base game and $15 for deluxe is super reasonable. Heck, I could get behind it being $5 for the base game and $10 for the deluxe version. Makes me feel somewhat less slighted when I paid for the game... (2 years AFTER the launch, mind you!)

Also, you are right on about the DLC being practically required for efficient, subject gameplay- there is really only a few DLC that are monumental in game play. (My dlc suggestion would really only be Growing Together, Parenthood, &
Why only those limited few? One word: MODS.
There are soooo many mods out there that do not require dlc to function. Half of them are 10x better that the Maxis OG versions. Some might rely on building onto a dlc content, but those ones are so easy to find similar content that works off other dlc you might have or most of the time, the base game directly. They made the Sims 4 with the intent for mods to carry the game from the get-go, so for newbies, why bother buying a few dlc rather than relying on mods that are game musts and are better than 90% of EA dlc. 🙄

Backtracking, these flat out give aways? What in the world. I stopped purchasing new dlc late 2021, where at the time, I had every dlc released until that point. Sure, some I had bought on holiday sales or from the random extra discounted 'discount bundles' EA has at times... but I mean-

I wouldn't mind if they were practically giving the bundle away, with a stupidly low price that anyone would be stupid not to take advantage of, but for FREE? Nah mate, if I paid for em, others outta have to pay as well. I couldn't care less what they charge for the older-ish dlc, but I am so not happy for this whole free for all. I loved their raffle idea where any random simmer could participate, then the amount of mentioned winners get the dlc free. Give-aways like that are so much more welcomed. Might be free packs, but only for a limited group of lucky individuals, not literally everyone who hears about it. If they want something like this for a mass influx of attention, would have worked totally fine as a raffle of the dlc, and just have the amount of drawn winners be significantly higher than usual. Like 1,000 winners, or something outrageous like that. Still gives tons of people the dlc, while not making older players who had to purchase the dlc feel backhanded for buying their content, making most of these giveaways pointless to us, already own it after all, while we get 0 benefits, special offers, or bonuses that actually mean anything to us. Give the players past a certain percentage of dlc have a separate, exclusive sales, please. I can only stare at the new and pricey dlc, while newbies get all this dlc I bought for free. Give us some sorta acknowledgement and goodies. We paid for the content originally after all.
