Last job I had was something I could have done completely at home. But the company I worked for wouldn't let me even though the client we were doing the work for wanted us to work from home so that we could be more readily available. I ended up leaving the company because they hired 10 people who were all getting a starting salary of $3-$5/hr higher than I was AND higher than people who had been there for 2 years by $1.50-$2.00. I and a bunch of other people left the company because when we asked for equal treatment they said no. They sited that the other people had work experience, however, that work experience wasn't even in the same field. Additionally I had a degree in a field more closely related and my friend had an engineering degree (we were making the same amount under the new people). On top of that my friend and I were both praised by the client and would constantly be tapped for side project from them. It's really a shame because I liked the job and would still be doing it if they just let me work from home.
