Another very useful video. Thank you. You didn’t mention lowering the apex. Should I make my FBA first then lower the apex, or is lowering the apex considered a length adjustment and therefore done before the FBA?
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but does this video include how to alter a sewing pattern to suit own personsal measurements?
ОтветитьThank you so much 🙏🏻 if I want to change my neckline style on sewing pattern , do I need to do that before making any other adjustment?🙏🏻 I appreciate your guidance 🙏🏻 I’m stuck in this subject . After I changed round neckline to square neckline or any other shape , it created neckline gaping for me . 🙏🏻 with rounded neckline , I didn’t have gaping
ОтветитьAneka I need you help please. I’m about to embark on a very simple circle skirt pattern (McCalls M8205), but have found that my hips being 34.5” fit the size S(8-10), and my waist which is 28” the size M(12-14). What do I do please? I know if it was a regular straight straight I could let out the waist of the skirt a little, but as it’s a circle skirt I have no idea what to do. Will increasing the skirt waistband area a little affect the flow/drape? Please help, as I’m already feeling discouraged and I haven’t even started yet! Thank you in advance.
ОтветитьI buy old cotton bed sheets at garage sales, thrift stores, church bizarres, etc and use them to make samples. Very economical. Just wash them with a little bleach, hang to dry and viola! Sanitized and ready to be a sample.
ОтветитьHello Aneka. Thank you so much. I have seen this order elsewhere on the internet. Does it matter, or make any difference, if I trace and grade to my size before making the other adjustments. On a group I am on some people seem to do what you are saying but many others grade first and then adjust. Since I came back to sewing I have been tracing from the PDF and grading out to my hip and then doing other alterations. Doing it my way will it alter the pattern fitting in any way? I can't seem to get a definitive answer anywhere. If I do as you say, how can I do things like curve-of-the-body adjustments if I have two sizes on the pdf - some people will have 3 sizes ready to grade out. I don't see how that is possible, that is why I am a bit confused.
ОтветитьPlease can I ask what dress pattern did you use for the dress on the manikin 🤗
ОтветитьI need to do forward shoulder adjustment and narrow shoulder adjustment which one should i do first
ОтветитьHello, Aneka! I recently made a dress with an inset yoke for myself. It is sleeveless and it has a princess line from the side of the bust. The yoke was supposed to be notched in the middle, but I opted to cut a round neck instead. The problem is that the yoke gapes under my neck on the front. How can I correct this? Thanks.
ОтветитьHi. My issues aren't the bust and waist measurements, it's the postpartum belly. How do I choose or adjust a pattern for that area? How do I even measure for that area? Thanks.
ОтветитьAre you still living in Australia? I'm not detecting much of an accent change here lol.
ОтветитьAneka, please I need some fitting advice. I have made a woven button down maxi dress out of a viscose (78%)-linen(12%) blend. My muslin fits perfectly, I did this with a short skirt not to waist fabric and its made out of a lighter viscose. I have made up my garment now and the long maxi skirt is pulling down the bodice, so my waist that was exactly at the perfect spot hangs now 1 whole inch deeper, which makes the dress look weird. I love the dress however and would like to make one more. Do you have any tips as to how to prevent the position of the waist being so much changed by the heavy skirt? I was thinking about just cutting the bodice shorter, but I also dont really like the look of the pulled down bodice... thanks for everything you are doing for us!
ОтветитьWhat about when the person has shoulders that go straight across? And the garment has sleeves and a collar? Most athletic women that come to me are built this way. Can you do a tutorial to alter a pattern to fit this body style?
ОтветитьI love the dress on the mannequin and I’m very much looking forward to buying the pattern from yourwebsite. It will look great with the new Liberty Tana Lawn I’ve just bought.
ОтветитьThank you Aneka... it's another useful video.
ОтветитьThank you for. explaining. these tips!
ОтветитьThis is prime information!! Thank you.
ОтветитьBeautiful pink dress .....let us know when u actually launch this pattern, I am sure it will be a huge success!
Thank you Aneka for this info 😊
Again a great video. I have learned so much from you.
You say that I can just grade between sizes, but I find it very difficult to do from my waist to my hip. My hip measurement is exactly the same as my waist and I'm plus-sized. So a lot of times the size for my hips are 6 to 8 sizes smaller then the size for my waist. It is especially difficult with pants. I have a looked around and I haven't really find any tutorials or info on making a "small hip adjustment". Is that even a thing? I would love to find information on this problem
Thank you for this ☺️ My biggest issue is a FBA from B to DDD 🙄
ОтветитьBring the girl who was traumatized 😂

ОтветитьI never thought about the proper order of adjustments when altering pattern. Thank you for the information.
