Can I use this for everyday training?
ОтветитьSays it all when David Kilgore (on ambassador) ran 70 miles in a cloudstratus!
ОтветитьGood review mate
ОтветитьNike Vaporfly Next% laughing out loud
ОтветитьThe Cloudlow is the only decent shoe they make and that's got a core following on the Tri scene . Everythi g else just seems like an edit from one last with a few bits of more rubber or a wider platform . Plus they are not a cushioned shoe , even the Clouflows will bottom out quickly and you'll start feeling the tarmac quickly . They need a new line or they'll just mot sell enough serious shoes to runners.
ОтветитьWhile I have tried several of their shoes, they aren't all great. And they are expensive. But, they have been putting speedboards in their shoes since the beginning, and while they weren't fiber (and the Cloudboom only has 15% carbon infused into the board), you might say that the other brands are playing catch-up with a full plate in the midsole. Their best shoe IMO is the Cloudflow and the Cloudstratus is decent as well for longer training. I would not buy the Cloudboom for the reason you state at the end of the video: there are loads of better marathon races on the market that are much cheaper.
ОтветитьWhen you do weights/measures, can you mention grams / metric values or maybe add some text to the screen?
ОтветитьI brought a pair of ON cloud flyers last year ,terrible time with them overpriced fell apart after a couple of months ,had a few injuries which not had in other shoes ,even had a few falls on wet surfaces in them not good at all ,so brought a pair of Asic gt2000 and a pair of Boston 8 for less than the cloud flyers both much better and will last a lot longer
ОтветитьI totally skipped on the Cloudboom because of two things: the price and I'm not even remotely fast anymore (those days are behind me). I could not justify spending 200 USD on a carbon infused shoe when my days of a 6-7 minute mile were years ago. I will say I absolutely love the way it looks; it has a certain race car inspired look to it. You're right, there are better choices out there that compete with what On put into this particular shoe.
ОтветитьLiberal hippies:"No more Carbon footprint!!!"
Shoe manufacturers:"carbon footprint?... Mmmm"
Nice honest review Fordy. As mentioned below first thing I thought was "golf shoe'..🏌️
ОтветитьYou're not harsh, just honest and blunt, and that's what I like about your reviews!
Kieran Alger from The Run Testers didn't think much of these either so you're not alone. I've run in the On Cloud, loved them, didn't have many of the problems that others have experienced, but I'd only buy these if they were on sale for a ridiculously low price.
I'm sure these are only for a select few, don't expect to see many in races (when they resume).
ON is overhyped, firm, expensive and has a ridiculous service. I have 2 pairs and have my experience with them. Only using them now casually.
Ответить‘Wild horse’ is my favourite
ОтветитьYou need to do speedwork in it, in my opinion the best shoe for around 3.00km pace or even faster!
ОтветитьAlways thought the Hoka Speedgoat was a funky name but appreciate it's named after its inspiration - Karl Meltzer!
ОтветитьCan't believe Roger Federer left Nike for this.
ОтветитьI use to love On shoes, think I’ve had about 7 pairs but no more. They all seem to wear prematurely and the final straw was the stratus that started to fall apart at 80 miles. I’ve heard that their focus is to be a lifestyle manufacturer rather than serious running company. Great honest review of what seems like a very mediocre product at a premium price. I won’t be buying any.
ОтветитьGood honest review glad I didn’t get some of these
ОтветитьNext is the Cloudchill for recovery runs
ОтветитьSomeone working with you on your running form? You seem to be landing more on your forefoot 👍 Prefer the Cloud Swift which has better stability and cushion (if you can call ON running shoes cushioned)
ОтветитьLooks like a golf shoe
ОтветитьI must agree with you.For me it's a bit of cheap advertisement trick to sell this surprisingly pricey shoe.Even when comes to outsole with foam segments they must be inevitably less bouncy and kind of unstable on your foot with no support whatsoever..
ОтветитьOn Running is setting themselves up to be a flash in the pan company when it comes to performance running shoes. Overly firm and overpriced, most of their models can't hold a candle to other shoes in their class. On Running has a dedicated fan base who flock to them for their flashy looks, but on the whole they don't seem to have an eye towards expanding that base by putting out quality shoes that those without the required amount of disposable income will be excited to pick up. Not surprised that the CloudBoom is swing and a miss. For my money only the CloudFlow passes muster for running purposes. On would do better as a lifestyle shoe company which they're fast on the road to becoming.
ОтветитьI find ON to be similar to Mizuno in that they are holding onto a gimmicky technology for marketing reasons. 7.6 oz with an upper that thin? If it was on other brands, you'd see weights closer to 6.5 oz or less. The pillars don't offer any advantage over TPEs or even traditional foams. Just like the Mizuno wave plate. Adding weight without adding benefit. Cloud is worn by people who think spending more money = more performance.
ОтветитьGood honest review the shoe just wasn't your cup of tea, nothing wrong with that.
