I like playing the game on my TV and challenging the game the way it was when it first came outi like geting in as close to the other side as I can get to see how fast I can get set up and destroy while defending my base and capturing the other sides base

Its near imposible to play skirmish here, the AI is just too braindead, it rly needed more AI options, a modern AI set, look at age of empires 2 remaster for example. This rly kills it for me , since i dont enjoy the gameplay in campaigns. Its a shame cuase the art textures sounds are all well done, but if the AI is terrible whats the point

Your in depth arguments truly evoke discussion, for example in this video you commented on the obscenity of the war on drugs in Switzerland. What an amazing statement! Wish they had revamped the pathfinding, and AI as it is really frustrating. Units don't move when they are under attack sometimes, frequently just get stuck on one another and stop moving, sometimes when you send a group somewhere only one or two units will move, and so you have to send them again, artillery will try to move to a unit instead of fire on it causing them to die, and the whole point of them is to use them at long range so they can target stuff without being under threat, units will just sit there while a unit next to them is under fire, transports whether it is land, sea or air are very finicky with units refusing to go in or get out etc. In the first game your people will just run over tiberium and die instead of move around it. I was young when these games came out so don't remember it being this frustrating, but I guess it shows how far RTS games have come over the years. I don't think it would have been too much to ask to tweak this to make it more manageable.

Why is this not available on console? Love C&C games but don’t have a gaming PC. ( Is it possible to play this on M1 iPad Pro some how??)

The controls and AI are so frustratingly stupid - I can't believe they didn't fix this. Grenadiers killing your minigunners, pathfinding less fun than a cactus up the arse, and left-click does everything - so you go to select an APC, but the infantry you've already selected board it instead. Vehicles sit still with very run-over-able infantry blatting away at them. I had forgotten how frutratingly retarded the NPCs are in this.

I just got it and it's exactly what you remember but with better graphics...that said when it came out first it looked great too...so...would l recommend it.?..yes !!...why not??..it isn't expensive and it's fun to play.🙂

They should do red alert 2 instead of red alert 2

tbh i think tib dawn is worth $10. a remake would have been worth $40. and id pay $70 for a remake of tib sun. but 40-50 for a remaster because of how great it is. but its not like they MADE a new game. they just tiddled with the models, which has probably been on the modding community list for years. (which sounds like what EA would do [case file: command and conquer 4])
i just see alot of copy and paste wrapped up in a new box. and i say that as i debate buying it because if you dont support it, it sends the wrong message (if you want a new C&C)....cause i want more from them and if i dont pay them they wont work and or do the project i want.

NEED TIB SUN. the freeware one aint cutting it- but i hope for a ground up remake.

My issue was how unfair some of the campaign missions in red alert 1 were. Like there was a mission as the allies and i had to capture a building. But there was also an Iron Curtain and a Nuke Silo, so i send a large force round the back of the Soviet base to destroy these buildings. I succeeded.

Not 5 minutes later the AI sends a mammoth tank to my base that is protected by iron curtain and they drop a nuke still anyway.

Like, neither of those buildings were on the map anymore and the AI got to use them anyway.

Anyone else think c&c isn't that good?

Don't think the selling of all buildings is a flaw in the AI. It had no way to fight back and gave up, selling everything. Saves you the trouble of spending time on blowing up power plants and silos.

I was so psyched when this was announced, and that they were getting petroglyph, and Frank and all the good stuff they were doing...
My only issue, is that it absolutely plays like a game that came out in 1995. While it looks nice (And yes, I know how much trouble they went through to get everything just right), a little modernization goes a long way. Attack Move, AI pathing, etc... All stuff you covered though.

They did a lot of stuff right with the remaster though, and that honestly can't be argued.

It is a mediocre overpriced reskin, and will go down as such.

I never played C&C beyond some games of Yuri's Revenge at a friend's house... But this game blows my socks off. I love how the micro plays in Tiberium Dawn, the feel of the game, the setting, everything just puts this massive grin on my face while I play.

Westwood were amazing to make a game of this quality back in the 90s, and I'm very happy I was able to enjoy it through such a faithful remaster years later when I'm getting into the RTS genre again.

yeah yeah but no tiberium sun and firestorm there were 10 games in the collection you cant pass off 2 games as the command and conqur collection.

I'm really hoping we can get a Command and Conquer Remastered 2. Where Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 can get the same treatment.

I feel like they could end it after that. The SAGE engine games hold up just fine and don't need a remaster.

i have both tiberian dawn and red alert 1 on playstation they was a lot of fun when i was a little kid well specially red alert 1 since only few mission worked on tiberian dawn, the CD was a mass with a lot of scars and marks so did red alert 1 but it had skirmish and i had a lot of fun with that most of my life like red alert 1 was like a backup game if something happened to my desktop pc and i like the remaster

Like imagine this. if anyone made a UI mod when someone switches Remastered to Legacy, the UI would change to the original one so it would be like a nostalgic appeal to it and if switched back to Remastered then the UI will be back in tip top shape.

A LOT of control functions have been removed ie: selecting by teams - such disappointment!

They did such a brilliant job with this. However, I just wish they would have fixed the pathfinding. That stuff, these days, is beyond enfuriating because instead of actually strategising you are forced to micro manage literally every unit as they pass a choke point or a bridge like an underpaid babysitter looking after 7 siblings fighting over a toy

How do you chat online?

You can set a rally points in Red Alert. you have to click on the building and right click the area you want to rally.

The soundtracks don't do it for me, i tend to play games on mute & listen to actual music that i like :D

In regards to the AI selling buildings and dying, I do that. If all my production structures are gone I will sell everything as a suicide move.

I am still at knives with EA for it's shady bussiness... but at least, AT LEAST... they came up with the best idea to bring back the original gang who made the first C&C games and boy... this is how you do a proper remaster.
Oh, and one more thing: congrats, EA, for finally bringing your games back on Steam. Thank fuck for that !

I played it not too long ago, and my only genuine complaint are those horrid baseless missions, where you are given a set amount of troops and expected to take own an entire Nod army. As someone who is only alright at RTS games, i find them completely impossible on normal, while completely impossible to lose on casual.
Apart from that, the game definitely seems to have been left untouched by EA, 'cause its pure gold.

As a long time fan i think it was great excelent graphics wish the AI in skirmish was a bit smarter like in C&C 3 in the original C&C ai skirmish is a complete waste of time

My dad and I bought 2 of these so we could play like the olden times together while I'm in college. No lie when the servers shut down on the newer games it's been a pain. We use cnc online but always seem to have connection time out issues (generals, Yuri's revenge, red alert 3 etc.). I love how easy it is to connect on the cnc remaster online
