I'm running into a problem with some of this stuff. It seems as though the camera is not "talking to" the lens, as in it won't take a photo. I looked up some stuff that said I need to go to the settings and switch on the "release shutter w/o lens" but that option is not in the menu on my EOS M. Is that option available with the magic lantern OS? Thanks for the great video and all the help so far!! Really excited to start making some video.

Hey man this was the video that initially got me interested in the EOS M, and I want to say thank you, as I am new to photography and filmmaking and don't have a big budget, but this camera ticked all of the boxed. I payed around £200 for mine and a 15-45 EF-M lens and the quality is brilliant! It's a nice, lightweight camera that I can carry around with me in a small camera bag, which makes life much easier. So thank you for informing me about this camera, this video has been a real life saver!

Four years later, what would you choose for the same budget setup? Is a M50 more appropriate today?

Do you shoot raw video only with the EOS m? If not, then how'd you like the quality of the video that's just used in various automatic modes or whatever in other words not shot in raw?

Will this setup also work on the EOS M2?

Would you recommend the eos m3 if I want to build a set up like this?

Hi do they have the firmware for Fujifilm X-E3 camera; does the Nikon D850 need this firmware for Nikon and Canon camera. Can you tell if I can used that firmware or does the camera has all I need?

Hey, very new to all this. Really appreciate the content. Doing my own research and scouring ebay for an eos m but there’s a lot of different m’s. I’ve seen m2, m10,m50. With all different prices, some affordable some not. Should I be looking specifically for the plain old m? What’s your take? Are they all compatible lens wise?

Can EOS M 2's work too?

I’d get the no-name brand fd to eos-m speedbooster. Then get a 24mm canon fd 2.8 and a 100mm fd 2.8.

Maybe one of those deity micro mic that records front and back for doing interviews and recording my own voice off camera.

I have a question hopefully someone can help with. I have an old canon 60D system. and was looking at the EOS-M for this whole magic lantern setup with my old canon eon lenses. BUT, wait a minute , can I get the same cinematic capabilities with loading magic lantern on the 60D?

I was wondering if you could answer a question- I have Canon EOS M mirrorless camera, and tried to power it with a portable light Newer control unit, through dummy battery set up, there was an orange flashing for a moment then went dead, and now it won't power up. Does anyone know what do you think it might be?
