The only thing you can rely upon with Jaguar Landrover, is it's un-reliability. 😏😏😏..................

The trouble with statistics is how they are interpreted. One car on this list is a big rental seller. So maybe the year timing makes is about right for sale. Many of the others are expensive so maybe buyers trade vehicles yearly. Given the first year a of a car post "new' sale is the big hit in resale value, dumping it due to dislike is a big $ ouch. While I think over all it is a interesting set of number I am not sure dissatisfaction is the only or even main contributor to turnover.

Build quality of most normal cars has over the last 20 years or has so gone rapidly down hill whereas the costs have gone rapidly through the roof !

The statistics used are fundamentally flawed. Many dealerships register a brand new car when it is superseded by an upgrade or model change and sell them as used vehicles.

Here's a thought, with the exception of the Nissan, these sort of luxury car owners tend to like having a brand new car every year. I wonder how many of those who bought a BMW, Mercedes or Range Rover went back and replaced it with the latest model from the same brand?

If I w@need a luxury suv I would get the Lexus GX. I found a used 2017 Lexus GX with 100,000 kms for $30,000. Japanese built and stupidly reliable.

This video is complete nonsense. Its suggesting there is something wrong with the cars to justify the returns or the fact that a certain percentage end up as second hand within the first year. Yet it ignores the fact that as luxury cars (mostly) many of them may be one year commercial leases or imported stock that must be registered and sold as "demonstrators" in the first year. You will note that this survey does not list any American cars, which does seem odd given that Ford and GM build some complete turkeys. It would be more helpful if there was some analysis done on why cars were resold in the first year so that consumers could draw conclusions based on evidence not hearsay and aspersion.

No surprises here... BMW, Jaguar, and Land Rover have been unreliable, extremely expensive-for-what-you-get luxury brands for decades. Nissan is a bottom feeder in the Japanese car market. Mercedes lost their way when they were part of Chrysler, who taught them all their bad habits. For owner satisfaction, get a Mazda, Honda, or Toyota, or maybe a Subaru. We keep our Priuses for a decade or more. We have three, so obviously there is much to like and there is little to complain about.

Not sure how all the BMWs in this vid have “high maintenance costs” when BMW includes three years free maintenance and a warranty as well. So, out of pocket is ZERO. Note: the X1 is front wheel drive, so if a buyer is expecting otherwise, will be disappointed. Comments?

Personally I feel the true root reason people rid them selves of these mid income vehicles isn't performance. Altho this may seem legit the average driver isn't that astute when it comes to any performance. It's the brand that captivates the. The ol OOO look at me!! When reality strikes the wallet It's the high cost of ownership. It takes about a year to learn that expense.

Jaguars are not what they used to be, a better option now is a Japanese mark that proudly displays the fact that it is Japanese. Jaguar lost a ton of support now it's only a tiny bit made in the uk but mostly made in China, Brazil, India, Austria, and Slovakia. It's a bitsa, bitsa this and bitsa that, plastic, and tatt, underpowered overrated and overpriced, and to me ugly!

I think what strikes me most are the cars that are not on the list. These ones are premium UK & German cars (with the Nissan being the exception). Is that to say US car drivers would prefer cheap mediocre cars? Costs seem to be a common theme.

All cars are hunks of plastic shit. Japanese American European all have started making their vehicles out of cheaper materials and charging more for them. the thing now is everything is turbocharged which adds more things to break that are expensive.

Old Hondas and Toyotas used to be very simple. that’s what made them reliable. Now they’re like everyone else. Over priced hunks of junk that are riddled with problems

The biggest problems with cars today that they are over engineered! Too many useless gadgets.
I owned a 1969 MB 300 SEL 6.3 ! That was a flawless car! Near zero maintenance - but, I have faithfully changed the oil, filter and plugs.Fuel injected 300 HP engine, midnight blue, air suspension, fold-down writing table in the rear passenger seat, rear window curtains.
I drove that from Tacoma, WA. to Tampa, Fl. This car was a head-turner if you've ever seen one.
Then, I gave it to my mom and headed back to Alaska.

The BMW 3 series make the company. I’m a little confused because I’ve leased one and pay $0 for maintenance. I would NEVER buy a used BMW…unless…I honestly can’t think of a single reason to actually buy one used or not.

Direct Injection(causes carbon build up, and requires expensive cleaning to be carried out from 30,000kms onward depending on make and model ) and too much technology in cars is the biggest downfall.

At our auto repair shop we get 2nd or 3rd owners of Used BMW's, Range rovers, jags etc. At first, they all think they are so cool driving these. Give them a few months, most are sorry they bought the piece of shit. It costs big money to look cool.
