The AK27. An underrated player but such a great talent. Great stick handling and shot🏒👌🏾
ОтветитьAs a Habs fan by birth. Gotta love to see #2 and #1 against the Bruins. 😁
Of course Kovalev had incredible stick handling skills. He also had incredible skating skills. One thing that helped him rise among the NHL stars.
He always made chara look like the big clumsy giraffe that he is on the ice. It was great!!!
ОтветитьShould have been one of the very best players every year. Out of this world, effortless ability. I have no doubt that alot of guys who played with and against him would say the same thing.
ОтветитьIt’s like he’s playing in slow motion
Played in the wrong era.
ОтветитьI really miss watching him play. He was an interesting fun kinda player
ОтветитьThere are very few NHL players who were at once so talented and at once so talentless as Kovalev. When he wanted to he could be the best player on the ice and it wasn't even close. He had size skill strength speed a deadly shot incredible hands everything. Except for one thing, work ethic. They're aren't many players in NHL history who play 1300 games and post 1000 points but will never be considered for the Hall of Fame. Kovalev is one of them. True example of a guy who could infuriate you and dazzle you in the same play. Canadiens haven't had a talent like him in a good while if ever since.
Ответитьhe has such a great moves with the puck and yeah he can score from up close in traffic real well
ОтветитьThis guy skill to slow a game down is still unmatched
ОтветитьKovalev had his best years in Pittsburgh. Loved playing as him in NHL 03.
ОтветитьGenerations to come will never grasp #3.
ОтветитьThe deke on Chara turning him inside out in the playoffs
ОтветитьHe was so calm and smooth with the puck when you watched him
Ответитьtop 5 or 1 puck handlers of all time. shocking he didn't net 40 goals every year?
nyr coach cambell messed him up as a young player
One of my all time favorite players. From a Pens fan.
ОтветитьEverything he did he made it look so easy and simple. He was a great player, a lot of people accused him of lacking heart and dedication during his time with the Canadiens, its a very hard thing to judge. He was skilled and a menace on the ice nobody can take that away from him for sure.
ОтветитьMan I sure miss 90’s hockey. I don’t miss the clutch and grab bs, but I do mis players like this. I’d have loved to have seen this guy in a Blackhawks jersey.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite Rangers. Good old Kovy number 27.
Ответитьl Artiste !
ОтветитьAlexei McDavid! before Conor's time.
ОтветитьDefinition of wasted potential 👌 His flashes of brilliance yet lack of overall dominance and consistency drove me crazy as a Montreal fan but man was he fun to watch with the puck
ОтветитьI can still remember meeting my friend in the hall at school shaking his head asking if I had heard about Kovalev the day he was traded to Montreal. That is where he belonged
ОтветитьI’ll remember #6 forever. It was my first ever game at the Bell Center. ❤️
ОтветитьGreat video, I made one about his career if you're interested.
ОтветитьTurns out I’m named after him and honestly I do t think there is a better player to be named after
ОтветитьKovy will always be one of my favorite player. He was sooo fun to watch
ОтветитьAm a Pens fan from the 90s. The power play unit of Lemieux/Jagr/Kovalev/Straka/Stevens was unstoppable.
Ответитьhe always looks like he's playing at 10% so smooth never breaking a sweat...
ОтветитьHabs legend
ОтветитьAK27
ОтветитьWow. Kovalev was THAT good. He had some serious high level skill like I’ve never seen before. He musta been a handful to defend against.
ОтветитьHow did they forget the no helmet goal???
And note to rangers’ commentator: it’s Kovaleeeeev, not Kovalooooov!
Highlights #1 and #2 were in the exact same game as well.
ОтветитьWrites
"Check out the 10 best plays from the career of former NHL star Alexei Kovalev, one of the game's elite playmakers "
and then shows 10 goals and 0 assists.
What about Kovalev's highlight reel goal in the 2004 World Cup Of Hockey?
ОтветитьGrowing up in Montreal this guy is the reason I played hockey, gave me chills every time he touched the puck. I had the opportunity of meeting him a few years back, just a great guy, who's presence still gives you chills.
ОтветитьВеликий игрок с непревзойденным владением клюшкой и отменным катанием. Если бы не постоянные травмы колен , то его карьера была бы еще более яркой. Блестящий игрок!!!
ОтветитьBack when hockey was actually tough
ОтветитьWhy did the rangers announcers always call him Kovalov? 😂
ОтветитьI got an autographed stick of his.
ОтветитьKovalov? Who's that?
ОтветитьNonesense, the World Cup goal inside out against the US is the best.
ОтветитьWhere's the one where he gave up on the puck trying to sell a fake hand injury during the playoffs that immediately led to a Boston goal, and win?
ОтветитьMy favorite player of all time. He was a huge part of the 94 rangers cup run with 21 points, played with the greats Lemieux and Jagr, and was the best Montreal Canadiens player of the last two decades. Last one to be above a point per game on the Habs also. He is often overlooked as one of the greats, but in my view he is right up there as a legend of the game. I'm glad he's getting a little love with this video.
ОтветитьYup he was special!
✌🏼😎👍🏼
Bad choice of highlights
ОтветитьOnly guy who can pull off white boots
ОтветитьMan I loved Kovalev and Koivu growing up. Both players were my childhood and Kovalev was just so fun to watch as he was so slick and crafty with his dekes. His puckhandling was A+. At other times it would be frustrating to watch him also as he seemed lazy sometimes. I definitely know Montreal loved him and it was sad when he was let go by Montreal. We havent had someone with the flashy skills like Kovalev. Maybe Radulov comes close and Montreal let him go too.
