Two things to add which worked for me: 1. Make an exclusion for the game folder in you Antivirus program. 2. Lower the audio bitrate and frequency, if you've got an external DAC. Some games really don't like anything more than 16bit 48kHz, and get either bad crackles or the game engine just straight up crashes, like it did for me.

Damn, I just tried all of these and no luck. What I don't get is that I have more than 100 hours of game time in HZD. The game worked perfectly with high frame rate... and then one morning it just started crashing as soon as I opened the game and giving me a message saying that there was an error and asking me if I want to send a bug report. I have tried re-installing the game, rolling back my graphics drivers, and doing all of the steps in this video, but nothing seems to work. How can a game just suddenly break after working for over 100 hours??

changing permissions fixed it for me. FYI right clicking and running as admin was not sufficient. Had to be changed in advanced properties.

odd that you don't show that you're having the horizon dawn not launching and then show that these steps work... cuz so far, these haven't worked.

The Ram Trick and launching directly from the intallation folder worked for me.

I have done everything yet nothing works....I also cannot get a refund for the game either.

Im havinga diferente issue with the game. With the patch and other fixes the game have a very acceptable performance so far. But when i have to answer a dialog scene, it doesnt allow to choose any option even with the mouse or keyboard or even a ps3 controller. Anyone out there who knows how to fix this or have an alternative? This game is really good and i want to keep moving on it.

before all else if stuck on a blank screen after spash.. try alt -f4 it will take you to the menu and you can start game. change settings.
