In our culture, we usually think of dreams as something that your soul or body is trying to tell you, or something that might happen in the feature. For example, i had a dream where i lost one tooth for some reason. The explanation for that dream in our culture is that you will lose a beloved person in your life. And guess what, my grandmother died the next week. After 6 months, i had the same exact dream and yup you have guessed it, i lost my grandfather the day after. Till this day i am still in denial about it. But my god, it is such a fascinating topic to discuss about.

Western scientists cannot understand why we dream. They only make unfounded speculations and conjectures. Until you don’t believe in the existence of the human soul, you will never understand the dream phenomenon. Western scientists are the most arrogant and stupid bunch of fools in the human race, period.

Had dreams about drowning in tsunamis and getting kidnapped this week. Is my brain broken?

I'm very much a lucid dreamer. I will treat the dream as if it's real and just go with it. But if it's too uncomfortable i will wake myself up. I hate when i realize I'm waking up without wanting to. I often dream I'm driving an old car i owned long ago and the brakes don't work, or i transition into watching my car from afar and trying to steer it in traffic. I sometimes find myself with a blanket and pillow trying to sleep on the side of a highway, and when i can't the pillow turns into a vehicle that i "drive" down the highway. Sex dreams used to be disappointing because the girls wouldn't have vaginas but lately they have and i achieve penetration but very rarely orgasm. But I will find myself in ridiculous circumstances, usually work related, or I'm in the church i grew up in and wonder wtf I'm doing there as i haven't attended in almost thirty years. I look forward to my dreams and am usually quite disappointed when I wake up late so i can't return to the dream world as the real world commands me. The best lucid dreams are when i feel myself falling asleep and float out of my bed, travel through the house and make my way outside. Occasionally i meet very strange people who seem like AIs performing experiments on me, in that they put me in certain situations to see how I'll react, and i defy them but they always have a lesson to teach me then let me go. I dream about dead friends all the time and when i tell them they're dead they don't seem too upset. In fact I'll tell random people that they only exist in my mind and when i awake they will disappear and they never protest or worry about it. I have a recurring dream where i find my way back to the house i grew up in but it's now owned by someone else who has remodeled it and I'm not sure if I can stay there or not. The dreams i hate are witnessing terrible car and truck accidents that kill people or massive disasters that are crumbling buildings sand destroying neighborhoods and I'm searching for a big church or something to protect myself. Sometimes massive objects appear over the horizon and head straight for me, like big buses, then airplanes, then aircraft carriers and they gradually get bigger and bigger. I dream about pets i used to own that have died and they are talking to me. I dream about an ex wife that I should've never left. If there's an afterlife, which I'm 99.9% convinced there isn't, I'm hoping it's a dream like opiate induced state where i can still consciously opt out of from time to time.

Smoking weed I rarely remember dreaming , only if i do some new and its on my mind, like for instance a new job

Whenever i do something new , ill find myself starring at the ceiling “pitch black” feels like mins, dreaming it over and over, then i wake up and its been like 3-4 hrs since i went to sleep

@besmart can you explain then why did I dream with a relative that I had no connection with? She came to my dream to say good bye. When I woke up in the middle of the night the phone rang and it was her family telling us she passed away. I had no connection with her nor I ever thought of her either.

Sometimes, I dream about cheese

when we were learning about triangles and geometry and stuff in math i can vividly remember solving triangles in my dreams. it was so satisfying to do that. like, my dreams are not like movies and stuff, i dont really see things in my dreams but i can imagine concepts, so it was suprising my brain could do that

I usually dream of a mixture of some real and made up places and they are repeated in so mant of my dreams. It’s like my dreams have a fixed map. They feel familiar when I see them but they’re not real. Strange!!

I've noticed that dreams can enhance the new stuff that I'm learning recently. Like when I was learning to solve a rubix cube, I remember it even coming to my dreams and the next day I was kinda faster at working out the algorithms

Bizzare it was but I can continue an interrupted dream at night. I should at least go back to sleep 10 secs after my dream was interrupted and then I was able to continue the dream I was in.

I had a dream a month ago. A close friend of mine (a woman in 75 years of age) appeared in my dream (she's still alive) where she said to me that 'Heaven is real and you should believe in it'. I've never forgotten that line of her in my dream even the moment I woke up. I could still remember it so clear. That was kind of weird but maybe it was a reminder.

Today i just dream about myself going around a block if school and stealing mangoes from the road which were grown from inside campus and i saw a river that flows around a high way and a big whirlpool in the middle, it was tempting to jump inside but scary at the same time. And last part was the weirdest, i don't why but my d**k was reaching forehead in length and i was taking photos as i was being proud or something but when i wake up i immediately check my phone for the photos 😅😅😅.

Do any of you ever have a recurring dream that you're back in school and have to take loads of exams before you can leave school? Or have to finish lots of homework? If so, what is your relationship with your school life like? I'm asking adults who have long left school rather than those still in school or have just recently left. 😮

Ok but, fr fr I had a dream last night that I went on a date with the cute guy(he has a girlfriend 🥲)in my AP psychology class(ironic I know) and the date was to see if we could go on a date... then we went into a weird clothing/merchandise type store with lava lamps and slippers in it, and we were talking about whether we should date or not. Soon enough I wake up and realize how weird this is and go about my day like normal bc it's just a dream, but then something crazy happened! Today I was walking out of my English class and bumped into him on accident and he said "oh I'm sorry.. oh wait, hi!" And I was like "hi! 👀🤟🥲😦" and at the same time he walked over to his girlfriend... bro broke the fourth wall.. WhEn wOrLds cOLlIdE🎶👀
