Lol people dont understand how OP the wretch really is. You start at base level 1 with 10 in all stats. Thats more sat points than any other class, but you're also at level 1, so your initial levels cost less than any other class. Items and spells can be farmed or picked up, but stats stay with you throughout the run. Its the most optimized class in elden ring.

Wretch wouldn’t be so bad for new players if there was any armor set found early game lol, your best bets are other starter armors from merchants or godrick soldier drops

ER was my first fromsoft game and I chose wretch first and it was the best choice I could have made!!! I’ve platinum’d every other fromsoft since then and am on 13th ER playthrough and I choose deprived or whatever is similar to wretch on all of them.
WRETCH IS ONLY CHOICE EVER!

Also… the club is really not as bad as you would think… in subsequent wretch NG’s I’ve found myself sticking with club a lot longer than you normally would… the attack speed is so fast it’s hard to give up that quick attack window. The damage isn’t great but it’s certainly better than a lot of other weapons!

I believe I have found my people as the hip kids may say, on my first playthrough I selected the wretch because he had no clothes and that was funny

Ive always been a deprived so I could build a spell sword asap plus respecing is clean

I started as a vagabond and now I'm in the crumbling adulation and still can't learn any spells but I do have blood hounds fang plus 9 and 60 strength

THE WRETCH IS THE BEST CLASS IN ELDEN RING! Think about it you start at level 1 but still have 10 stats at everything so you could have stat level 20 anything while just being level 11.

The wretch is by far the most insane class, truly representative of crackhead energy. I like beating the Tree Sentinel with a stick just to assert dominance.

if you just max all your stats out then you'll never need to respec to change weapons. It'll take an ungodly amount of time but it is possible

If you're commited to a build for the playtrough I would recomment other starting classrs then wretched not because they start at a higher level but because some of their stats are lower than 10
