John is one of the most thoughtful, confident, pragmatic, and knowledgeable players I’ve come to enjoy watching. His style of play is a great creative mix of precision and romanticism, and just brutal logic. It’s fascinating to me how style of play between players can be so uniquely defined, and John certainly has a very colorful command of the game that is never rote, perfunctory, or boring. Great video.
ОтветитьGood job guys
ОтветитьRyan, the 8-15 exchange is a draw as well. As a matter of fact, Kingsrow's analysis shows virtually no difference in number value between 7-16 or 8-15. I also had always thought 7-16 was the superior move, and that 8-15 was a near to probable loss. But perhaps this was an old viewpoint that has now been corrected.
I also played Dr. Beckwith this same opening in the tournament. We both won with white. Dr. Beckwith played his white attack against me a little different than he did versus Jon. He played 25-22 before 27-24. And I played the 18-14 attack on him from white. Extremely hard opening to defend from the weak side. The published play is crucial to know.
Great analysis to a great game. Great player.
ОтветитьVery detailed analysis of the games. I like Jonathan Chappel's playing style. His parties are like a work of art
