10 Sling Bags For Every Occasion | Should You Travel With One?

Do you travel with a sling bag?

Why is it that "sling bags" are now crossbody bags? I need a sling bag with organization flexibility of Bellroy...not a crossbody, not a backpack but a sling bag. Any suggestions?

I do travel with a sling and a backpack...I have slings from Pantagonia, MR, Peak Designs and Tom Bihn....The REI Trail 5 kills them all and will hold a small water bottle. Same materials and craftsmanship way cheaper too!

I really like some of the features of the patagonia sling - for ex: the addition of external straps - but hate that it's only for the right shoulder (lefty). Is there another sling that you'd rec that has those features?

I purchased a Herschel Seventeen Hip Pack the other day. It's LIFE CHANGING!! It also looks really cool (in my personal opinion).

The 2L Fjallraven Kanken is efficiently boxy and worth consideration . Their 1.5L High Country isn't as efficient due the more conventional taperd shape BUT it doesn't jut out as much. In PacSafe I prefer the smaller 2L and 4L models.

I bought a TomTok sling and it's super good. Also it's not too bad in terms of price. Like it's around $40 American and it carries everything in my pockets+my headphones or switch. I'd give it a look cause I think it's a great budget sling...well budget compared to the normal $75 of most good slings.

Does anyone know of any slings where the bag part looks straight and not diagonal when wearing it? Idk why but that's the only think I don't like about slings. I find backpacks uncomfortable but just looking for a straight/non-diagonal look when on my back.

You are packhacker. You do reviews on all things travel. How come you don't do ANYTHING on Tumi. Tumi is a very well known travel bag maker. I am looking for information and comparisons on the TUmi Higgins sling, and there is nothing on it. I was very surprised and confused. Tumi is more well-known than some of the other labels you do cover regularly and more easily available than some. It is just strange to me that you would exclude Tumi from the list. You have bags by peak design, and their stuff is quite expensive and even more than some of Tumi's bags, so I still don't get it. Why do you do absolutely no Tumi bags? I get they may not have sponsored you but do you only do labels that sponsor you? I thought you would have made that clear on the videos. I am NOT making a jab or challenging you - I am just saying that I do not understand why you do not do Tumi bags. I recognise that there are many luxury brands that are not actually very good travel bags as they are simply plane bags with an upmarket label but no travel intelligence. That does not seem to be the case for Tumi. If it is, then I would expect you to review their bags and say so, thereby saving many people lots of money and time. Again - I am surprised you don't cover ANY tumi bags.
I do not work for Tumi, and I have no connection with the brand other than I have some of their bags and would dearly love to hear how they compare with some of the other bags you review. Hearing your perspective would really be useful as you and your team have more experience than can be had by one person regardless of how much they travel or have travelled. Again - I am surprised.
I once asked about this, and women said something about looking into it but nothing more. Given they are so prominent in the travel world - just stand in an airport and look at all the Tumi bags that go by you - people seem to like something that they do. I would love to know how their stuff compares to some of the things you have reviewed.

You could do nothing and to even respond to this - I hope you don't, though. I hope you respond and let me know whether the reasons nothing will change or when you might look into it. Some of the bags I wanted you to look at are not out of season and have left the line - that is how long I have e been looking for or this haha.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. Is Tumi a travel brand, and if so, what makes their stuff off-limits when you are thinking about what to review?
