Funny watching in 23 with stadia killed off

So something that I find important, that I can't really seem to figure out. What is the response time for the chromecast? I have an old one (one of the first ones) and I want to cast from my laptop to the TV so I can watch or play games in bed before going to sleep. However, this old one is a couple seconds behind on my laptop, where compared to HDMI cable, I obviously don't have that problem. So what I want to know is, how does the casting work? It would be annoying if there is a large delay.

Is this device getting discontinued?

I have one and it gave my old Panasonic 32" a new breath of life.

Until the TV died from old age last month.

That said, the TV will be fixed and until it costs more to fix than upgrade, she won't be getting her well deserved rest yet.

Nothing beats the Nvidia Shield Pro

I loved their google tv interface but I ended up returning Chromecast 4k cuz streaming apps like Netflix just looked washed out and almost blurry. Running Netflix directly over my smart tv looks great and running Netflix over Amazon fire tv stick also looks amazing. I guess the wifi in Chromecast is not good enough for my network. I tinkered around forever and couldn't find a solution :(

The Philips TVs have a built-in Chromecast if im correct.

I just bought a amazon fire stick 4k max instead. Its good. But seeing this maybe i made a mistake. I've had older chromecasts in the past so i went with amazon to try something different and also i saw another video that said the chromecast was prone to crashing mid movie play back which swayed me towards the fire stick.

Game streaming is so good on this.

Soo...can I download apps from Google play store to the Chromecast?

I am trying to find something like the Chromecast that only is for sending audio to HDMI connected to my stereo receiver's HDMI port from my PC. So, having the ability to control the audio playlist from PC, not with a remote on a TV screen... So far, I need to have my 50" TV on just to listen to audio, not including creating a playlist, but wanting to use a browser for example on PC or even phone to change audio tracks.

I ditched Samsung when they stopped updating my EPIC Galaxy S8 (still too dumb to restore it to glory) and went all in w/Google product s & services. I never knew what Google TV was until the first few minutes of this (that's after 2 years of (I guess sorta) using it. LTT should just remake the entire Google help archive.

For me the the TiVo stream 4k or the onn android tv boxes are better, just because they are cheaper and run android tv instead of Google tv. Too bad that i can't find the onn in stock for it's original price😅

i bought the one for 1080p because my tv only supports 720p (1080p is the lowest quality i can get) it costed 30 bucks!

Can you still use your phone to control it like in previous versions?

After getting Starlink internet I canceled my previous Internet, tv, phone provider and needed an option for my less tech savvy family to watch and stream entertainment. I tried a couple different options like Amazon FIre Stick but as mentioned they lacked a lot of features. ChromeCast had basically everything and for $150 to set up the whole home on one system you can't really complain. With the power of the internet and shady websites that let you stream movies for free there's no lack of entertainment for the low low price of $0.00...

I know this is an older video, but Fire Sticks support casting just fine.

Problem is that the less expensive TV's can handle the lower screen rate from the hdmi port.
