I have an iPhone 13 (product red). It has 88% max capacity…. I don’t really notice any difference in the battery life after a full day. I AM NOT A POWER USER!!! I just charge when sleeping and use for random stuff throughout the day

I think the camera bump on the regular 16 models is the cleanest look since the single camera lens. I really like it. It looks like it’s making the most of that space. If it has 120 hz, I’m definitely sold on it, but it’s seeming like Apple’s going to make us wait a bit more for that on the regular models. I have the 14 Pro. It’s nice. I rarely use the zoom. 120hz is nice and smooth, but not $200 more nice. I see 120hz as more of a nice animation feature rather than serving anything really practical.

Been using my 15 pro heavily since launch and i do plan to keep it for a couple years. By then i think the smaller bezels, under screen faceID, and better battery will make a compelling upgrade. But for now i am loving the 15 Pro's compactness. Best feel in the hand ever.

My iPhone 15 Pro has been set to 80% since I received it on launch day. I only wirelessly charge using Apple MagSafe. It’s at 98% after 274 cycles. This is much better than my iPhone 14 Pro, which was at 92% at this time last year. Limit on charge level is great in an office as I can just leave it on the charger and not care.

About the iPhone battery health. My 14PM I had 1 year, with 260 some cycles. I always manually charged it only to 80%, and never wirelessly. My battery health after 12 months was still 100% (but soon after dropped to 99%.). My current 15PM, has 224 cycles right now, and already down to 98% with the 80% charge limit set. So yes, there could be major differences in the batteries used, but the only difference from me is I use my 15PM in nightstand mode on a Mag safe charger through the night.

With the amount of screen time I have on my phone, it can last nearly 4 days without charging with 80% charging limit, I won't have issue with smaller form factors with smaller battery size, its a shame that not what the majority wants. Phones are getting bigger with better battery life nowadays as a result.

I am praying the iPhone 16 comes with a really high PWM frequency display and DC dimming. iPhones have become unusable for me since they made the switch to OLED because of the screen flicker. I only recently switched from my XR to an Android phone because Apple has left me no choice.

15 Pro is as close to a perfect phone as it gets... Except for the overheating part. I don't understand how that slipped under apple's radar it just overheats way too much way too often.

just record to an external ssd...that is basically an "instant" transfer. Unplug it from the phone, plug it into the computer. I would do this anyway, just because of the file sizes, etc.

All that being said, I do agree that it has become so much more useful due to having usb-c and apple log.

I had my 15 pro for about as long as you. My iPhone’s battery health is still at 100% with 216 battery cycles. I’ve never used the 80% limit on the charge, apart from the first week of owning the phone. I’ve always just used the standard OBC setting.

Not saying that the 80% limit is pointless or anything. I’m glad that feature exists for the 15 Pro. But this review and my personal experience with my 15 Pro more shows that how you use the phone plays a much bigger role in how fast battery life degrades, rather than how you charge it.

My issues are heat like you said and the camera takes too long to take a picture when shooting 48mp. I recenly turned off the charge cap but my battery is at 99 percent capacity and I got it on launch day. I think I'll wait for the 17 slim or a ultra. Based on the leaks it looks like its going to be a boring year for the iPhone. Not sure if you have this already but iCloud storge might help with offloading stuff off the phone to free up some storge for shooting.

I´m now in the beginning of the third year of use of my iPhone 13 Pro Max (alpine green, 256GB) and it still rocks the hell out of it. I know it's already like a three year old tech but the camera was too superb at that time, even the differences between the 15 and 13 are so minor. I bought it at the same day as the 14th series was announced because the price difference would have been 300-400€ (Germany). After I watched your video and heard about the problems of transfer speed on the 15 (which would be the only thing which bothers me+ Lightning Port) sometimes when having to share large files.

After a year and two months with my 14 Pro the only complaint I have is the degradation of the battery. I try to manually charge it up to 80% and I also try to keep it cool, but battery health is around 91%. The battery life is still more than enough, getting me very easily through the day, leaving home at 80 and returning at 30. I just wish the health percentage wouldn’t go down that much, as it removes value from the phone. Otherwise I am very satisfied and I plan on changing the battery two years from now and keeping the phone at least 5 years. I’m soon to become a student, which means that little of my budget can be devoted towards a phone so I’m proud for demanding such an expensive phone at so young age, because it means that I’m not stuck with a low range android for the next 4 years.

To transfer faster you can try, connecting your iPhone with a usbc to your mac and then using airdrop. I see a "wired airdrop" or smth. IDK about iPhones but, it works in my iPad with thunderbolt, so it should work wtih the iPhone 15promax.

Since I have a 2 year contract, I'll be trading up to the 16 Pro Max. Too bad that a dark blue won't be available.

Currently on the 14 Pro but I’ll be getting the 16 Pro Max in September. The battery is cooked on mine (86%) and struggles to last a day if I use it heaps (hence going pro max this time), plus also usb c (since I got an M2 iPad Pro back at Christmas, bought usb c AirPods Pro 2’s back in march and have a dell xps 13 with usb c) as well as the bigger screen and better zoom lens for recording video. Keen to see the difference that the 48mp UW lens makes as I use it a lot on my current phone. I wouldn’t normally upgrade this soon but the battery in particular is becoming a problem for me. My 14 Pro won’t be going to waste though as my brother will be getting it as an upgrade from his iPhone 12

Drew, you are going to be happy. File transfer is solved. When you have the phone connected to your Mac and you send files via AirDrop it automatically sends it using the cable. This is on iOS 18.1
