Xbox Achievements vs. Playstation Trophies

BECAUSE AT THE END I FEEL LIKE I DO SOMETHING THAT BRINGS ME JOY AND SEEN THEM IS LIKE "I REMEMBER THIS WAS HARD TO GET BUT I FINNALY HAVE IT"

They are overhauling the achievement feature dude!!! Adding platinum as well! Let’s go

I think I'm ok with the PS trophy pop being like a small notification especially in the top right corner. bad thing about the Xbox achievements is the notification is completely long enough to where say if you were playing one of the Yakuza games and it's Japanese and you're reading the subtitles and the achievement pops and blocks the whole subtitle.

Xbox achievements

I prefer trophies for a few reason it’s very satisfying when a bronze or silver or gold or even the platinum pops. The trophies are also very nice too look at in your trophy list especially if you have rows of platinums. You can also just look at the trophy and know how hard or easy it might be to unlock a bronze trophy is usually something easy where a gold will take some time. Also I’m not sure if Xbox has this but each trophy is ranked on how many people percent wise has earned the trophy so it might say ultra rare with a 0.5 percent or very common with a 35 percentage. Plus when you earn something dosnt it make more sense it be a trophy and not just a number. In all the sports out there players always win some type of trophy a medal or a ribbon something.

Xbox achievements are my favorite but I still love PlayStation trophies. One that needs work is Steam achievements, they need to implement an achievement list similar to Xbox and PlayStation and have stats shown to compare with others.

Xbox literally just needs to create the equivalent of a platinum

i believe the overhaul of the achievements is well needed.
1) xbox needs to differentiate the difference of base game and dlc ( similar to what true achievements is doing) or what sony is doing
2) theres got to b a form of platinum trophy when you 100% the base game and when you 100% the base and dlc

Okay, hear me out - Origin has the best achievement system

It takes the features of both Xbox and PlayStation (other PC achievements are just whatever so we'll ignore them) :

1. It has (usually) a 1000 points for the standard game without DLCs, just like Xbox

2. It separates base game achievements from the DLC ones, like on PlayStation, but Origins doesn't have the worthless Platinum, which is supposed to be obtained after getting all the trophies, but often it is not so (like why is NG+ sometimes considered a DLC on PS?)

I like how playstation categorizes trophies with bronze, silver and gold. Something about a digital trophy feels nicer than seeing a number pop up.

I like both but I do prefer Xbox gamerscore. It’s so satisfying seeing how much gamerscore you have HOWEVER when there’s an extremely hard game that’s known to be very difficult to 100% I do it on PlayStation. I feel better having a platinum trophy for that specific game.

Nice video bud. It’s a shame because both have great parts to them and others that are lacking. The platinum and breakdown of trash pies imo is so far and above how Xbox does it, but I love their leaderboard with friends. I wish both companies would put more effort into the systems. I bet more people would utilize them if they did

I'm a trophy hunter, but much prefer the way the Xbox UI looks, and the detail in there main trophy tiles. Ps5s trophy UI looks half done and the tiles are so small. Its definitely gotten worse ever gen since the PS3s.

Xbox has a better sound for getting those rare achievements
Playstation allows you to get platinum without having the DLC.

I got both and I generally prefer gamerscore. Seeing a huge amount of numbers regardless makes you realise how much games you've played and it's a nice feeling. Trophies have a bit more complication which is kinda all over the place. Bronze, silver, gold, platinum then account level, with all that combined you only care about account level and platinums. Like a plat is better(Bragging wise) but gamerscore feels like a price value and you see worth in the high number

As a trophy hunter, i usuall dont do it to show off or anything like that, normally i do it just so i can get all the content and even some fun challenges out of every game.

I got both but I wouldn’t ever call myself a achievement hunter cause I was never addict to it like I am with trophies most likely because of the platinum trophies and I reather have a high plats than high gamer score but on Xbox I would never let a free achievement go but imma have to go with PlayStation

I hope to update the achievements system for the Xbox and make it similar to the PlayStation

As a long time achievement hunter The one thing I have always been jealous of is the platinum trophy other then that Xbox all the way for the achievements

As a PC gamer, I like the design of GOG and Epic achievements. And Xbox, but I don't buy Microsoft DRM so it's only for Game Pass. Steam is a little bland. They added sound effects recently but only for Big Picture and Steam Deck

Me personally i like PS trophys more, not only because of my platform bias but because getting a platinum trophy is super satisfying especially now since they recently added a cool little animation when ever you earn one. I cant agree on the notification sound however, i just feel like the PS sound has more personality than XB but again thats just platform bias. And lastly earning a trophy just sounds cooler snd more substantial to me than earning gamer score but again agian platform bias

Biggest problem gripe I have with trophies is the separation of the dlc and platinum. It doesn’t make sense to have a platinum next to a 90% trophy completion rate. If a game adds dlc trophies, said player should have to go complete that dlc to earn the platinum again

Honestly, maybe I’m biased but I really like the looks of the trophies for ps, idk it just brings me more joy in a way that Xbox just feels like an achievement and ps feels like you’ve earned something even if you didn’t really earned anything

I have both so I like both a lot but if I had to choose I gotta pick xbox

Gamer score is like saying you gave up half way but since you got this far take a participantion trophy, whilst psn trophys just say "you did it!" Or "try harder" the idea that they provide an infinitely more accurate mertric of skill is why it's better

you said about unequal achievements on xbox because of many easy games that you can 100% quite fast, but to be fair ps store also has lots of similar games where you can get a platinum trophy in about 5 minutes and you still get around 1300 point for that(platinum 300, gold 90, silver 30, bronze 15; if game doesn't have dlcs you're getting around 1300 points for 100%)
so yeah on playstation we also have lots of games where you don't have to put any effort to get a platinum trophy

I have a Ps5 and xbox series s and i play on my ps5 more And i try to platinum most of my games

I have xsx and a ps5 but gamerscore means more to me
