You all are swallowing the Russian propaganda on this weapon. There are three phases from launch to contact on the Earth and in two of these phases, the US can shoot it down. The first phase is the launch until a standard rocket gets to the top of the atmosphere and it can be shot down like any other Russian ICBM. When it gets to the scram jet phase we don't have the means to shoot it down. One important thing the Russians do not tell anyone but the warhead with the scram jet is going so fast, it can go 25 mach for a short time because the tiles would melt from the friction of the air. Secondly, with that kind of heat around the vehicle causes a plasma which is the same when a spacecraft enters the atmosphere and radio contact is lost until the spacecraft slows to a supersonic speed. During the scram jet phase, the Russians have no contact with the weapon and it only flies straight and cannot be steered as they claim. When the weapon slows down to supersonic speed, it can then only be steered but there is some chance it still could be shot down. Too much maneuvering can overstress the vehicle and it could self-destruct so it can be shot down but with more difficulty. Russians are always overstating the performance of their weapons and this one is no different. Just look at their performance on their superweapons in Ukraine.
