The issue I see with Fluyo is that you have to be invested in the games story world for this to work. What unique functionality does this have which isn’t in duolingo or the other language learning apps? Is there any scientific research that proves the style of learning in this is better than the others? What makes this different as a language learning tool? This is what persuades a 31 year old like me that doesn’t have a lot of free time and wants the most efficient and effective method to learn a new language as fast as possible. If it so happens that creating great story world and having people play as an avatar is actually the best method for language learning then I would be willing to invest the time in the app, but without that assurance this simply doesn’t appeal that much to me.
I’m sorry to be this blunt. I’m being honest because I want you to succeed. Your story is truly inspirational, but that alone isn’t enough to get everyone onboard or stay signed up. Maybe I’m missing something here so correct me if I’m wrong. I like the general idea using story to teach languages. But how exactly does playing this app/ game actually teach me another languages? Do all my interactions with the other characters happen in my target language and therefore I have to force myself to understand/ figure out their questions?
Btw I worked for a company that created a gamified language learning app, which failed. In my opinion it failed because we fundamentally couldn’t answer the questions above. Last thought, all the rage is in AI right now. Is it not possible to incorporate that in there somehow?
