Which month did you visit? You seemed a bit cold at times.
I visited Namibia during summer, early February, rented a diesel Hilux kitet out similarly to that Land Cruiser you met at Sossusvlei. Paid about 70€ a day 🤠
Traveled alone as you did as I was in Namibia for a work/business trip and just decided on taking a week vacation when standing at the airport. That one week went by incredibly fast and I fell in love with Namibia. Definitively going back again, just not sure if I will fly down and rent a Hilux again or drive my overland kitet Land Cruiser down from Norway 🤩

I started in Walvis Bay and as it was rather spontaneous and un-planned no rental company had any car available, but talked with Berg 4x4 rentals and they would do all in there power to get me one and early the next morning my adventure started. Highly recommend them and no beeping when you go over the speed limit or go a little off-road even though "not allowed".
Next time though I would rent a pop top roof tent instead of a standard roof tent as you will spend a lot of time packing down the camp in the morning traveling alone.
Prices for camp sites, B&B and hotels are all based on pr. person, so everything is a bit cheaper traveling alone as well and everyone always wondered why I traveled alone like I was crazy for doing that 😂

Go to Namibia, great country and nice people, I even picked up a couple of local hitch hikers, no problems :)

I was introduced to Namibia by ItchyBoots, Noraly from the Netherlands who road through this country on her motorcycle with cameras mounted on her helmet and handlebars. Her narrative was fresh and in the moment. This lip synching is a very poor alternative. Namibia is stunning and Noraly, who is a geologist does an amazing job of showing it to us. I think I'll pass on this.

If we do not protect the elephants we have, I think it will be difficult to bring them back. I have visited countries in Africa, but Namibia will not be on my list because of your uncaring attitude. I will never live in africa because I will starve! also most people are naked there so I will stay were I stay! :) 3rd world Greed, Corruption will sacrifice everything for money. Profit over Principles. Namibia has no morals at all. It's cruel and wrong to allow poaching Black people (No offense) and ebola, hunting of any kind and worse are the leaders that allow it Shame on Namibia. Racism, tribalism, expensive food and dictatorship. Same Government since independance and corruption. Also lots of rape and gender based violence. Almost no one lives there/small population-wonder why. But the weather is always great there.

Namibians should consider their elephants a treasure. Don't trash them for some dirty dollars of a rich foreigner. The future of Namibians is in the maintainance of the country's ecosystem. Respect your fauna and people! I will not include Namibia in my vacation plans and I am asking my family and to do the same. Shame on you for not protecting these animals. Elephants don't belong to Namibia only!They in this world for their own reaon!We here to protect them Enough is enough for gods sake. Who are we to swarm their land and take their lives.
