can someone help me understand something about how pioneer names there products

when they started making cd players they adopted the CDJ name which makes sense Compact Disk Jockey
up untill recently this made sense because even though the CDJ family became more and more and more digital oriented starting from timecodes to mp3s and pc midi connection they always maintained a disc player

but if they deleted that off the 3000 series should it be called DDJ or something as it doesent have a disc drive no more

Was hoping to mess around with this setup at a nightclub but this looks too impressive to compare to lol
