ОтветитьTry using a primer first not just painting onto the plastic
Ответитьㅋㅋㅋ 똑같은생각중이였습니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Ответитьi suggest useing a resin acrylic paint medium and some thinner it helps alot i know cus i use mostly craft paint and make my own model paint out of it cus model paint is expensive and making my own is cheaper
Ответитьmy miniatures look amazing compared to other people's miniatures (masterwork from hobby lobby vs citadel) so what's up with that?
ОтветитьWhen you're mixing the colours you should have mixed yellow, magenta, and cyan NOT yellow, red, and dark blue. Essentially, you're adding pigments into the mix that you don't want, and they will make every colour look muddy.
Also, if you want to do the cheapest way of getting started, nobody would use those paints, so why not find out the lowest number of proper pots you could use as a beginner instead?
At a guess, I'd suggest - yellow, magenta, cyan, black, white, and a metallic, probably silver :)
I use walmart applebarrel paint on my minis
ОтветитьI've used watercolors on minis. It's really not that bad. You'll be layering a lot.
ОтветитьFed post, but for gw
ОтветитьModel paints. Like most things, you typically get what you pay for.
He's proven that somewhat false with his pain comparison video, but all it did was prove Citadel/GW paints aren't worth it. Vallejo and one other (can't remember which) were the top contenders for best paint brand.
I have been using regular acrylic paints on my minis since 1 bottle of Vallejo paint is already equivalent to a 24 color regular acrylic paint set.
ОтветитьI use alot of Apple barrel from Wal-Mart not the dollar to dollar fifty ones they are thick and suck. However the 54cent matte paints are not watered down but there perfect for mini painting 5-10% thinner than citadel. I only use for colors i don't have in citadel yet. And a few velejo that go on really nice. But some pf the 54c paints are awesome and go on smooth as hell
ОтветитьLike video it need lots more light for any of the black primed miniature no justice when need to see the cheap actually fail or win
ОтветитьI used some mont marte satin acrylic paints recently and they were pretty good
ОтветитьTiger is the best, I miss it so much.
ОтветитьI live in Walmart country, and they have Apple Barrell craft paints for 55 cents and there are like a hundred colors. They... work... but the coverage is insanely bad for most of them. However, as Jay of Eons of Battle has stated, their black is better than Abaddon Black, and they are a must for doing terrain, basing, and DIY projects.
Brand new painters would be best served by buying 5 colors of their choice from a good line like Vallejo- black, white, brown, main color, and accent color. You can almost paint an entire Space Marine army with those. Slowly acquire paints only when you immediately need them.
Bro clicked on AliExpress and gave us all lead poisoning 💀
ОтветитьI tried. The acrylic paint I brought at Michaels is too thick. When you water out down, it’s too thin, and it leaves streaks. Ugh.
ОтветитьWhenever you say Dogsh_t, I need to push that like button and share this right away, hahaha!
ОтветитьMe realizing you are from Česko... okey, ďalšie video
Ответитьbiased, you should use them blindly
ОтветитьOk so im just starting out, and I have recently bought the Warhammer 40k Recruit edition box set, ive never painted miniatures before, but ive done three models when I was a kid. I have the exact paint set that you show at the start of your video the vajello one with two rows of colors in the green box. Ive been looking at lots of tutorial videos and it seems that the best brand is Citadel, I don’t have any of the proper colors to paint my models but, would it be illegal if I used flat blue or other color schemes besides what is shown?
Ответитьchildish green? more like vomit green.
ОтветитьYeah the resulting color is darker because red yellow and clue are not primary colors. The real primary colors are magenta cyan and yellow
Ответитьwhy THE HELL didnt you just go to your local dollarstore?? most dollarstores have an arts n crafts section
ОтветитьI tried these colors two because a friend gave up acryl painting hobby. But they never worked for me. They dont coat. Normal acryl paint seems to work well on canvas not on plastic.
ОтветитьYou cannot compare oil-based acrylic paints (cheap solution) and other water-based ones (citadel, vallejo, aquaeous hobby color ... etc). It would be like comparing a diesel engine to a gasoline engine and saying they don't have the same performance or comparing two pieces of fruit and saying they don't taste the same....
ОтветитьThe real question is how hard is it to get paint out of that amazing beard??
ОтветитьWhenever you want to get rid of more paint I'm open LOL
ОтветитьIf you consider volume of paint per dollar, there are actually realy great colors, which are even cheaper. In the hardware Store the Mixing Acrylic color for Wall paints have a high pigment density and can be thinned down very well. I use them very oftenly for terrain and lately i used them for plastic terrain and i realy think, i would also use them for miniatures.
ОтветитьI use dollar store acrylic paints and brushes. They do fine. But I did buy a good brush from craft store for fine painting
ОтветитьQuick question. At the end you strip them by dropping them into a jar. What do you use to strip the minis? Cos, boy do I need to strip off some ugly messes.
ОтветитьI want this man to paint Aaron Kaufmans car
Ответитьwonder if they would be good for basing miniatures at very least???.... in theory inconsistency with any type of terrain can be a good thing, at least in most of my experiences doing it.
ОтветитьI got a set of 6 paints for a dollar once...
they were shit
I dont know if its because its a video but the 2 reds on the black look barely different to me, the more expensive one looks maybe 1.5x the thickness
ОтветитьIt would be interesting to see these through air brushes
Ответить60 dollars for a box of mini. Doesnt want to spend 6 dollars on good paint LUL
ОтветитьFirst time?
ОтветитьPainting war hammer with only washes ?
ОтветитьI just finished painting my first ever miniatures, the elite edition start collecting box. I started out building terrain and have enough for more than 3 tables lol. My skill improved rapidly and have made some really great pieces.
I bought into the belief that you couldn't use cheap paint for miniatures and ordered a starter set from army Painters.
I have years experience running a 4 color process printing press and understand color very well.
The first disappointment was how the paint mixed. Most paints are a mix of different pigments like fire yellow, or cardinal red...meaning they are a primary color mixed with some other pigments whereas the primary colors, yellow, cyan, and magenta are ...the pure color.
The "special " paints mixed quickly just goes gray or brown and takes more experimenting to make good mixes and imo is less predictable than the primary colors.
I painted the first with the army Painters paint and the lack of a variety of the same color was disappointing and not being familiar with the paint line had a hard time knowing what shade would be darker or lighter so I used the apple barrel paints.
The second mini I painted was with them. I chose 3 different shades of red and painted a blood angels kinda scheme, I say kinda because idk the exact scheme, like thier specific markings and such and it came out pretty damn good tbh.
The next i did the same but more the grim dark style using a oil wash I made from cheap oil paint and again..nice.
Now I next tried the imperial fists and discovered quickly i didn't like yellow paint, any mixing results in...yuck lol. I striped off a lot of paint doing yellow but started playing with understanding and started getting good results but really not my favorite style of painting.
I just really like mixing colors and I think one pigment paints or oils are going to be good for me but life has bankrupted my hobby money for the foreseeable future and will have to wait.
My long winded point is, the cheaper paints do a lot better than you think and i wasn't blown away with the more expensive stuff, certainly not worth the price imo, overall.
Way more important in getting quality brushes, a fine pointed brush that holds more paint.
Never had a problem with the cheaper acrylics myself. Been using them for decades. Matter of fact, painted several GW games with them since 1989.
ОтветитьAhh man I got some comically cheap crap from the dollar store that should be hilarious
ОтветитьDawg I use apple barrel paints. Litteral 99 cent paints.
ОтветитьKayvaan Shrike used as a sacrificial miniature?! ... Noooo! 😱
