3 Ways to Trade Options with a Small Account

Good Evening, I am new to option trading and only have about $300 in my account on Robinhood which I use for their ease of use for learning. I am trying to locate some advice on how to grow a small account trading options but I am stuck at Level 2. All the videos I have found about growing small accounts all discuss advanced strategies that I do not have access to at Level 2. Mostly single leg strategies are all that are available to me. And finding stocks that I can afford the collateral on Level 2 is difficult. Any help or advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.

Best advice I've heard. Let's me know my slow boring way of learning and only losing no more than 5 or 10 at a time if it's a loss is confirmed safe. My smooth brain couldn't handle anymore pressure anyway.

if you are buying out of the money options does it apply to puts and calls?

I started an account with $200 and buying the most in the money contract I could at the moment I slowly made my way to 500 and after that buying two per trade I slowly made my way to 1200 all it takes is not being greedy, not holding and hoping and cutting losses if you see things going south.

Don't you need a margin account for spreads?

buying otm calls and puts on etfs like qqq and spy has worked very well for me with a small account, gets a little hairy some times for sure but overall they are pretty good for beginners

I've made money in poker but options wow. Loss for 2 & half years not a single winning week. And it's not like I am bad. I was a top analyst on a discord for options. I believe trading with a small account makes you more prone to mental mistakes, whereas poker it is much easier to take off with a small account. As for reference, I don't trade level 2 or higher.

$2 a trade?! I use questrade in canada and they charge $11.95 for 1 contract and $1 for every contract on top of that 😭😭

When you're referring to the OTM options and so on. Are you referring to people holding that option for a bit or buy and sell sane day?

I have been practicing on webull with paper trading options and I set myself with only $100 and have doubled that with trying to not be greedy with OTM options and buy a good amount and if it goes green I sell. It's been fun but I think I'm ready for the real thing.

When I read "small account" I was thinking 1k-5k not less than 1k.

Hello everyone, I have a question. I have been following the advise in this channel and I agree with the idea of just do the paper trade learning while saving up until you have enough money to trade my goal is 3000 and hope that is enough.
I however have a question I like stocks that have dividends and if for example I buy company X and lets say 1 contract and the dividends are due in 30 days if I still own the option contract and I do not the contract until after the dividends are paid out lets just say say 2 weeks after dividend due date.
do I get the dividends paid to me?
once thing I also agree is not to trade big amounts of stock or option contracts it seems to me that that is a great way to loose your money.
