Clannad, Haruhi suzumiya, Chuunibyou demo koi ga shitai, Hyouka, Tamako market, a silent voice were such great romances cause it wasn't only about the love interest. Actually, more than mind blowing animation and visuals, I loved seeing strong but still very real female leads carrying plots that are so deep that anyone can relate to.
What I used to love very much about kyoani was that they were more about adapting light novels than mangas. So you could feel how free the animations were and how they could control the special animation style they had.
Hibike Euphonium gave me the strength to not give up my dreams, it has a special place in my animelist. I think kyoani marked a decade and I'm really glad I didn't miss a piece of it. And, well, it's been 4 years and I guess they're still recovering, and the anime scene is far from what it has been (in a good Way ehe), but still, for the little me, thank you kyoani <3

Clannad taught me how fragile and precious time and family is, and the importance of connection

a silent voice, taught me how impactful actions are, how one action no matter how big or small will always create a ripple.

violet ever garden taught me empathy, learning about emotions thru this roller coaster of raw human emotions.

nichi taught me to enjoy the little things, no matter how strange life can be just laugh at life.

lucky star taught me precious moments with friends and how to enjoy them.

kyoani is a huge part of my life, they changed it and helped me be a better person.

long live them, thank you for all the laughs and cries i’ll forever cherish

Its so heart wrenching to hear this

Kyoani made all my favorite childhood shows. I didnt even realise all my favorite shows were from the same studio until recently
The familiar trademark of kyoto animation at the beginning of every episode has marked my summer and winter vacations

They didnt deserve this

The first Kyo Ani anime I watched was Clannad and it brought me back from a dark point in my life this was in 2020, Most recently I watched Sound Euphonium and it has given me a renewed purpose in life following a first year of university that left me empty. The scene that most touched me was Kumiko yelling on the bridge that she wants to improve. When looking into it I discovered the animator for that scene was killed in this tragedy and that is why I have returned to this video after first watching it after finishing Clannad.

When i watched A silent voice a few years ago I was still new to anime and wasnt familiar with the animation studios. I had still heard about the fire a few weeks prior. A Silent Voice hit the feels but apon seeing Kyoto animation during the end credits, it was a whole nother wall of emotions that I was not ready for. I think its time to start working through all of Kyoto animations work now that im caught up on stuff im currently watching.
