I’m poor but want to be alternative. I’ve been sulking because all the alt stuff is so expensive! I’m planning on diy-ing my alt accessories and clothes because I can sew. Knowing that alt started out as a poor persons culture is very comforting. Nothing wrong with alt people who aren’t poor though! I believe alternative should be an umbrella that covers anyone from the rain as long as they aren’t pushing people out into the storm :)

It's kinda sad seeing how many people get hated and outcasted from their Christian families in this comment section for dressing differently. I hope your families accept you, because as a Christian myself who also dresses alt (my family does not care, they are also all very Christian) I think it's stupid and silly that Christians do that kind of thing. It's wrong and stupid. Especially since Jesus was always the one to bring in outcasts and welcome them as an equal to everyone else, it makes me sick how certain Christians instead of welcoming everyone in, casts and banishes them out instead. It's disgusting.
Sorry I had to get preachy, but I really just can't stand it! Christians are supposed to love and accept everybody, and love all their neighbors, that's the most basic rule, and so many Christians can't even manage to do that. It really pisses me off, especially because they think they're so high and mighty themselves. I'm sorry if anyone had to go through and experience hateful Christians who showed no love or care, because that really does make me sad to hear that. It really is sad.
