The Josh Brolin character messed up big time. Instead of going back there, just to give the drug dealer some water, he could've just called the cops anonymously, and tell them about the situation he came across. The money was his, tax free!

damn great movie what has happened to hollywood since?

Common sense would have checked the case for a tracker but hollywood is what it is!

It's remarkable how closely the Coen brothers adapted the novel. I doubt Cormac was impressed, but I was.

What would you do if you found a case full of money? Turn it in to the police and tell them what happened, or keep it for yourself if you need it?

I remember girl I was dating worked late. I woke up one night to her sitting in bed watching this and I thought what in the hell are you watching. Great movie. Captivating.

Just remember if you find a suitcase full of money in the late 1970s/early 80’s tear that shit apart and make sure there are no tracking devices inside

Why does he drive back the next day? What did he forget to do and is that the reason he was hunted down? (If he didn’t go back would he have been okay or was he screwed anyways cause he didn’t know about the tracking device?)

If only he dug a little deeper(literally) into that money in the suitcase, he would have found that transponder. And most, if not all, this could have been avoided.

Brolin is one of my favorite actors. I'm happy to see he made a comeback during recent years and gets his praise due. Also watched "Dune" yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to see him on screen.

Umm, just randomly thought of a flaw.
Why would they have a transponder in the money? Unless there was some strange specific reason for that I can't imagine that buyers would do that.
Unless maybe Milton was the government and this was part of a sting operation? Milton's part in this was unclear if I remember rt. But that they are in a downtown building with accountants and what not perhaps they were Fed's? But hiring an assassin to recover the money doesn't add up then either, so maybe that doesn't fly.

This reminds me of an anecdote. I was walking in the woods in 2011, I found a bag, there was €7,500 in cash and a Nokia mobile, I opened the phone and removed the battery, and threw the smartphone away. I collected the tickets when I got to my car and threw the bag. I checked the notes: denominations of €50, €20 and €10.... It was probably the money of a dealer who had fled by cutting through the woods. I never returned to the scene. At the time I had to change my TV, thanks to this amount I was able to afford an LG Plasma 60pk950 (the best at the time), a Pioneer BDP-LX55 blu ray player, and I was left with around €4,000 , I was able to afford a whole collection of blu ray films... In short, it was an excellent find.
