How to fix Update Error 3 for Google Chrome

Had same problem with code 3. Had to use IE to get the choice to RUN, instead of SAVE because after saving and then trying, the same error would appear. Even the stand alone installer didn't work. But, with IE, and clicking RUN, at the bottom, the install work just fine.

Can you do a similar thing with error 4? It's funny that my computer tech can perform a Chrome update on my laptop easily in his office while I get this stupid error! Grrr.

Thank you so much! Chrome was a whole month out of date because I didn't know how to fix the error 3.

Does not work for me.  Redownloaded from Chrome's website and I get the same error.

If this doesn't work for you trying opening your Google Chrome browser as an administrator. It worked for me. It can save more time than having to re-install the browser.

I am downloading it from that page, still the same problem.

your fucking end music almost killed my ears.  Also, I don't see how this tutorial fixed error 3 without a re-install which I already knew.

most people will get error 7 first before they get to error 3  i got both I just went to c drive typed rededit in the top right bar --------------------------------------------------------------------   select regedit.exe.mui youll see C:\\Windows\SysWOW64\en-US-----------------double click it then go to hkey local machine click on software tab then click google tab then go to google update (right click and delete google update) ----then go click about google chrome if you get error 3 THEN REINSTALL IT LIKE YOU SAID THx for the info :)
