Food that has a few levels of processing is more expensive due to work. However this guy is super correct - you can eat healthier and cheaper if you buy food that went through less processing steps, and do the work yourself. It’s fun and rewarding.

Not all Costco locations do the tenderizing. The location in Sunnyvale California doesn’t.

Eating farmed salmon ought to be a crime against humanity.

The shrimp example made no sense, yes you save about $3 each time, but even if you buy the product 1 x a week for a year, you are spending $156 extra. I dont know who buys this once a week btw. Nonetheless, the savings are there, but not as substantial as you desribed.

I think your argument in favor of paying $120 a year for the membership, then buying $6000 worth of products to get the rebate is ridiculous. Maybe a restaurant, diner, or food truck could manage that, but not an ordinary person.

Dude said save "thousands" of dollars on shrimp per year, with his chest out. 😂😂😂🤦
Also, $8.99 per lb of quality turkey is a deal. Because MOST people don't own a slicer. 😂

I only have a BJ's in my area. Every time I go there, greedflation has struck again. So tired of the continual rising prices. These corporations are doing nothing to reduce prices. They lose bigtime, because I refuse to fall for their scams.

I have a membership, and would never pay the prices for beef that Costco wishes to get from their so-called members. There are many items at Costco that my wife and I would never buy for the price they are asking

Atlantic Salmon shouldn’t come from Alaska. Last time I checked Alaska was on the Pacific and Arctic oceans.

I may have found an error in your video, and I wanted to clarify it with you. "7 Things I DON'T Buy From Costco". You mention whole pork loins, but then immediately suggest buying a whole pork loin. Don't get me wrong, if you have a decently sharp knife and a cutting board, you can cut them yourself (I've done it, it's child's play), but that's the error. I need to go looking for one of those primal cuts though... Can't seem to find one worth a damn, and the nearest Costco to me is 2 1/2 hours away.
Also, those convenience packs (particularly the smoked pulled pork) make sense to me. Not all of us have a smoker. As far as the carnitas is concerned, I agree. Make that one yourself, and you can make it better yourself.

Honestly unless you buy stuff that’s exclusively at Costco or stuff with a genuine decrease in price, I think it’s not worth the price. Takes a very long time to get what you need and just walking through the store makes you have a nerve to impulse buy more than what you need. With inflation and current trend changes in the economy, a lot of items aren’t much cheaper if not = to a normal Target or Walmart which further bring a light shopper away. Meats and vegetables along with some other commonly used but high quantity items are where most of the money will get spent. Junk food can be another great way to save money but again if you don’t want to eat that much unhealthy food, better to buy less of it but sacrifice the savings.

I wonder if that is a US thing cause I'm pretty sure that they don't blade tenderize the precut steaks in Canadian Costco's.

I worked for Costco for 9 years back when it was a great place to work and shop. Our local Costco became such horrible and rude mask Nazis during the fake flu that I cancelled my membership. Guess what? I've found better quality and better deals lots of other places. Don't miss them at all...
