Amber Liu. Since your birthday is around the corner, I found it to be the perfect time to prepare for the celebration. The first time I ever saw you, it was through my older sister who was, and still is, absolutely obsessed with FX. I have been a K-Pop fan for about a decade now, but at the time, at least 5 years ago, I wasn’t acquainted with many groups. I saw the absolute glow in my sister’s eyes as she showed me endless FX music videos and talked about each member with such love and inspiration woven into each of her words. Since then, I have been a huge supporter and fan of FX, and I have grown alongside you during your most difficult and triumphant times. I know that you have been through a lot, and even saying that doesn’t even come to close to what you must have been feeling for the past several years. I know you have been in the business and making music for a very long time now, and I know you have experienced extreme tragedy as well as glorifying victories. I have never seen someone respond to any obstacles in the mature and hopeful manner that you have. That, as I’ve gotten to know more about you over the years, might be what I appreciated the most about you. I am so aware why so many people, including my sister who introduced me to you, are so inspired by you and desperate to follow in your footsteps. Amidst all of the pain you have felt, sacrifice you have made, and challenges you have faced, you continue to make barrier-breaking music and share your voice with the world through that music. Your response to the problems in the world is so wholesome, genuine and confident; and you have taught many around the world how to effectively recover from any pain they may have felt. What has always stood out to me is that you have always been confident, and done what has been best for you, rather than listen to others. You always came off as so comfortable in your own skin, and that makes you such an iconic performer and musician. Your powerful and bold rapping, combined with your soulful, smooth, and energetic voice makes you an incredibly compassionate performer who is so connected to her audience and music on stage. You are an unbelievably beautiful dancer and have such a demanding stage presence that has been such a privilege for me to watch over these years. I know that your fans love you in a way that’s stronger than anybody else ever could. You have given them a reason not to give up trying when the worst happens to them, and there is no higher form of inspiration than that. I am proud to be one of these fans, and I know my sister is as well. Similarly, your members love you and have such an unbreakable bond with you that I have seen firsthand without even knowing any of you personally.
