Bamg on about simplicity. I started my role as PM with a view that it's my responsibility to remove barriers or friction. I just feel that it alleviates stress on the team and generates better results. Colleagues have told me I make things look simple, but a lot of hard work goes into creating that!

I own a project management company and I can honestly say you really know your stuff. Hybrid of anything is really trending right now. Using any single methodology can bring in pros and cons.

I've had many project managers in my organizations over the years - one suggestion - focus on the business outcomes (and risks to them) over deliverables. Yes, timelines, budget, deliverables are important, but I've seen many projects meet those but the business value wasn't achieved. Sometimes risks to outcomes are ignored in the planning stage and sometimes the project deliverables drift one way due to schedule/budget pressure and the business need drifts another way and the resulting project fails to deliver the needed outcomes.

The word Waterfall drives me insane, it really is good marketing by the Agile crowd to push there agile scrum agenda. I prefer to call it traditional Project Management. With traditional project management you can run phases or tasks in parallel, anyone who says you can't, do not employee them! One thing in the video which for me is absolutely correct is Hybrid. Agile/Scrum have there place but need to be bookend by some traditional Project Management. As you stated, starting and closing a project. Slightly amused by some of the items you believe are trends and need to be included in your project. If i were to "just add these items" as you suggest i would be a mile over budget. In saying that, some are good ideas that need to brought into the project from the start. The sustainability one is true. I deliver projects into organisations, if they do not want to spend the money on handover and training yes, you can have issues with deliverable months later as know one owns them and in most cases unless the support team were involved in the project may not even know about the deliverable

Sustainability is usually the domain of the project sponsor (e.g., product or service manager). ADKAR change management for project sponsors is all about adoption and sustainability (e.g., the adkaR is for Reinforcement). Nice set of trends.
