ОтветитьGood luck and god bless you guys restoring classic cars
ОтветитьThose were really popular in México, I know little about the history of Mercedes Benz here in México, but I am sure there were many imported from the start of the car story to the time of wwII, Lateral I believe they were Back in the market by the mid 1950s, till the time the Government closed the imports in 1964.
ОтветитьI was going to trade school in the early 70's there was two of these cars at a gas station near where I was living they wanted 150. For both I wanted them bad to make one out of two my dad would not let me borrow the money so I couldn't do it .
ОтветитьWOW. After all the years, the care is moving under its own power. Those are Mercedes cars. Thanks for sharing. You are both very skilled gentlemen.
ОтветитьReally love the old Benz. U guys are geniues. This car cost a lots nowdays...very expensive and rare.
ОтветитьThese old Mercedes used a cast aluminum oil pan as a stressed member of the entire engine. I did a timing chain on my dad's 1965 200B. He loved that car above all things.
ОтветитьPull the oil pan!
ОтветитьJust wondering how to contact you guys. I bought two of your t shirts. Both came two sizes to smaller than the label. I have tried multiple times. I love the design and spent the money. Just feel like I’m talking to a wall
ОтветитьAmazing work , you lads spent a bit of time n money on this beautiful creature and she just purrs like a kitten , I have a similar one and I just love em
ОтветитьWow, what a terrible engine design. No wonder it was parked up, no mechanic probably want to touch it lol. Good job boys.
ОтветитьGuys theirs a sit on. You tube that does just this Brand of car.. He:s a dealer guy with 25 or 30 years.
ОтветитьY'all do to much yackin. Standin round yakin. Yakity, yak, yak. Goober pyle would fit right in here. " we'll i reckin i could tap this, what do ya think, yeak, i reckon so.... maybe we pull that chain, i dun know, i reckon, looky here at this thinga ma bob. Looky that bolt right there, what that for, we'll, i reckon. .......blah, blah.
ОтветитьAmazing!! Absolutely Amazing!! What a piece of Nostalgia, I am totally flabbergasted how well this Father/Son team works together. Thank you sister/daughter for the great filming each and every time. This is the high point for me in the evening. Keep it up! LOVE IT!!!
ОтветитьThese cars were designed to be inherited by great grandchildren
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьSounds like it needs an exhaust system.
ОтветитьI arrived in Hong Kong in 1962 as a very small - 3 yrs - boy, left at 17. In all that time the major provider of Taxi's both Island and Kowloon side was the Merc 180 deisel. They were unbreakable. Its no suprier this car performed so well, and it has NOTHING to do with the crew here - the engineering is so superb that a kid could do it. As usual, for all American car hobbiests, they assume their skills are top notch and that they have "saved" the car. Nope, the Mercedes just made you all look good by its stunning engineering and the factories build quality - they are without doubt the toughest cars designed for city activity the wotld has ever seen. Sorry to burst your bubble but you guys know, if you worked on it that I'm right - still well done on getting hold of a 190 at all
ОтветитьOh man, I'm envy that you can work with your old man on a project. Enjoy it and appreciate these times.
ОтветитьSo cool 😎 Awesome job! Would love to see what it sold for.
ОтветитьThe compression problem on #2 may have been stuck rings. A problem I’ve ran into on more than 1 or 2 20-35 HP tractor engines. After running for a short time, they eventually freed up and compression not perfect, but still more than adequate.
ОтветитьMercedes are great cars and there is still support for these from the dealer down to ebay, In Guatemala there are a lot of these because the Germans went down there for cocoa plantations unlike Porche that kind of burned the bridges on support and old parts.
ОтветитьGood old "Ponton"-Mercedes.
Very good job! Well done!
Greetings from the country where this car was born, from (Western)Germany 😁
It is ironic, my son has a 1963 190B sitting in his garage looks very simular except for the interior. His was also a timing chain problem. I wonder if it is a defect in the design or the old girls just get tired!
ОтветитьI know you guys can get it running again.
ОтветитьMercedes pontoon is truly an elegant and beautiful car.
Ответитьthy this, fellas...feed the new chain down on the (passengers) side when you feel it contact the bottom of the case secure it in place. Next, create a hook at the end of a metal coat hanger and insert it down the drivers side of the car. loosen the chain slightly until you capture the chain end an gently "walk" it under the lower sprocket until the captured end is at the top sprocket. Good Luck
ОтветитьI owned a 190c exactly like yours. I had to replace the timing chain on the front lawn of my girlfriends apartment, Long story short, I used a metal coat hanger to grab the lower end of the new chain and after several tries i was able to capture and install the chain dog. That car brings back memories
ОтветитьIm getting a 1950 plymouth in 3 weeks, and i can hardly contain myself. Evrry since i blew the motor in my 47 chrysler i have been hoping to find another old antique car. And best of all she is a runner, good shape, has everything in tact. And even the interior is in good shape, and the paint isnt bad at all. Sat in a barn for 45 years, but it was drained and maintained. 1100 bucks. I got lucky. My 8 year old sons reaction was he was shocked, and got really happy. Cant wait to get under the hood, and drive her too. Make new memories.
Ответитьtiming chains on benz are easy. talk to a mercedes tech and you will be suprised that you did not see how to do it.
Ответитьin 1960 i read an article in popular mechanics by Tom Mc Cahill....he drove a 190 diesel around the country and titled the story "5500 miles at .06 cents per mile....i wanted to buy one but ended up buying a Peugeot......big mistake.....i believe i would still own the Mercedes if i had bought one.....i traded the Peugeot in on a Porsche.......i still wish i would have purchaed the 190D....in San Diego the dealer was selling them for $3795......the Peugeot was $2495
ОтветитьKiller quality on these old Benzes. Nothing like what they’re building now. This is literally a lifetime car if you take care of it.
ОтветитьThank yoi for choosing such good music! My kids love the Valley of the Wolves now! Keep up the good work. It would be cool to see some various scripture posted here and there like the Bikes and Beard guy does on his channel. You guys are an awesome team!
ОтветитьWhat happened to the paint on the hubcaps?
Ответитьman, I love Texas. Go yall.
ОтветитьÇANI SVDİKLERİM OMOTOR TEKLİYOR ÖNÇE TEKLEMEYİ YAPALIMONU YAPMAZSANIZ AVASTUTMAZ
ОтветитьPeople have probably already said the but Beru spark plugs were pink.
ОтветитьBENİM ANILARIMI TAZELEDİNİZ AYNI ARAÇTAN ELLİ DOKUZ MODELDİ BENDE ÇOK UGRAŞTIM HARİKA BİR ATAÇ
ОтветитьIt won't be any problem to find spare parts to your car, because Mercedes have the parts in stock ! The only "problem" is that they are very expensive. But I think it's worth the effort and money to restore that super cool old Mercedes 🙂🇸🇪💚🇺🇸
ОтветитьThat's a beautiful automobile and a blessing from our Lord and Savior cause yall deserve to be able to find something so amazing, that's a cool ride and so different than most I've seen. I haven't seen any Mercedes like that one before
ОтветитьECONO CLEAN START FIRST WASH START 2 A WACK ON WACK OFF.<WAX ON WAX OFF> AROUND THE HOUD FRONT SIDES ANGEL @ THE MIDDLE LEFT & RIGHT / ! \ WAXED . WHEN IT RAINS I CALLED IT THE piss mobile LOL. I HAD PEOPLE ALL OVER MY CAR TAKING PHOTOS OF IT. I WORKED AT A GM DEALERSHIP AN I'M RETIRED NOW. I CAME UP WITH THE WACK ON WACK OFF NAME YRS AGO...
ОтветитьWhat you do is split the chain. Connect one end of new chain to old one then pull on old chain and feed new chain. Connect new chain together and line up timing marks. No need to remove timing cover.
ОтветитьSound like it runs on 3 sylinders-.
ОтветитьNot quite clear why you did not just pull engine?
Ответить
