😁 oh Yes they do sound diff.
Especially fl10 🥰. ReWire power🔋. And the mixer* from fl20 is traumagedy 🫡. Confirmation 200%. Once tested somehow mixer kills graphic. 😳 How tell me 😝

fl studio 11 has an option in projects where you disable the panning law. that's why the 808 distortion is not the same if you only use a soft clipper on the master

thanka fam, one thing that I've noticed is that in fl10 is much easier to move notes to do more keyshortcuts than 20.
I've both installed but why when I click on 10 to open automatically opens fl 20? please help with this issue

Dude, nobody uses the limiter. As for FL generally, 12 sucked. They made really questionable design choices and the workflow was irritating and weird. 20 was better, but for some reason it has more difficulty loading 32 bit plugs and would crash all the time, while I never had any problem in 11. Still using 11 all these years later. I'm hoping 21 will be better so I can finally upgrade.

Ah ,maybe its the master limiter thats causing certain sounds to increase in volume when looped by themselves, (even though the notes placed have the same velocity) until another sound is added, then the original sound actually quietens down and is 'limited'.
Whats making it get louder in almost a feedback loop?

the limiter part isn't the reason people think it sounds different, it's because when you render with the exact same settings across fl studio 11 and fl studio 20 they literally sound different. not completely noticeable but it's still there, the part where you said you did the same thing and they both phase canceled is absolute bullshit. i personally believe it's because of the legacy effects (fruity limiter, love philter, etc) because i did the same thing where i made a beat in fl studio 11, opened it in 12 and 20 and rendered all three and put them all into a new project and they did not phase cancel at all even with the exact same render settings.

@decapmusic - you should compare fl11 and fl20 the way it is actually getting used and see if there is a difference. When u just import files and bounce them together every daw should „null“ and sound the same but that’s not how people use it - we use the samplers, plugins, aux‘s etc
I don’t want to say that what you say is wrong but the comparison is not making too much sense bc it is not how fl gets used most of the time

thats not what the conversation is about. He completely missed the point. It's about panning law not the limiter. Take the limiter out. in FL 11 you can take the panning law off. which yes, it dose hit harder and its not cos its louder, everything sounds more glued and punchier. in FL 20 you can ONLY change panning law from circular to triangular. THIS does change the sound.

the conversation never had anything to do with the limiter so this video offers no value (no offence) to the discussion of fl 11 sounding better than 20

Fl 11 sounds completely different and its not because of the fruty limiter lol. Producers don’t even use that on the master.

Theres definitely something different about fl 11, it sounds more cheaper that 20 i find, but i think its that cheapness that actually makes it more pleasing for me. I dont use the fl limiter, so that writes that theory off. There is something different, I personally think fl should build their next version from fl 11 as its core, not from fl 20. and add further userability to the fl 11 are its basic palette. Keep the same look, no need for GUI changes, no need to make notes look weird in piano roll. allow us to draw with a paint brush up and down in pitch for hats like 11 does, legacy fx etc.

they need to improve on and some ideas I can think of would be:

1)vst3 integration
2)routing ( Hooking up hardware like compressors as VSTs, check cubase out and youl know)
3)Potentially an inbuilt Multi-sampler to compete with the likes of kontakt(they can sell libraries, more $$)
4)Audio recording, still a night mare. (Yes its beatmaking software, but needs improving)
5)Envelopes on audio clips in playlist (Again, check cubase, pro tools etc, youl know what i mean, fade in/out etc)
6)A good spectrum analyzer simular to Ozone5 wouldnt be a bad shout, and capture EQ shape.

FL 11 is special, theres something about it which needs to be preserved moving forward for Image Line. maybe have different versions of FL on releases? maybe call them Legacy Theme / New Age Theme? one being based off the fl 11 design, one being based off 20 design.

Actually it's the legacy settings that coukd be adjusted on samples, (which made drums hit harder) is the reason why people like to use FL studio 11. Thanks for your videos, those Ableton tips hit Like Mike Tyson. He still got it!
