What would be the best or worst thing about living in a Medieval castle?
ОтветитьI busted out laughing at the OSHA joke
ОтветитьA+ video!
LOVE IT! I would totally live in a castle, even if it was just for a month.
x The cold part would certainly bother me, nothing worse than it being cold inside one's home!
x I went to Santa Bárbara Castle all the time (sometimes every day) when I studied abroad in Alicante, Spain.
o A person could just hang out there, it was like a state park in some ways.
I think a good deal of these are not true.
Ответить“It’s like going to the Waffle House after your wedding… but sadder” 😮😂 I about spit out my drink lmao
ОтветитьAcceopt the RAT GODS
ОтветитьA lot of this is just not accurate. The bath one particularly stood out. There were even publuc bathhouses and let's be honest, rivers and streams. Having your own tub and someone to play music for bathtime was luxurious, but everyone bathed.
ОтветитьMost of this video is complete fabrication. Our ancestors were just as smart as we are and they figured out how to deal with all of these issues. Washing, cleaning and laundry were common. Men cleaned the cesspools and sold the fertilizer to farmers. People working in a castle were well fed. This is the most inaccurate video I have seen on this channel. 😢😢
ОтветитьThey did NOT drink spirits , they knew nothing of distilling
ОтветитьI think one important point people don't mention is that there's a diff between castles and palaces. Palaces were actually pretty nice, castles were fortresses built for military purposes.
ОтветитьHey y'all 😮
Ответитьa day in the life of a Scottish clansman would be interesting
ОтветитьEraticated 🤔... 😉
ОтветитьHuh? Okay, now I just liked this video.
ОтветитьAnd alot of people hate cats and prefer dogs. Sure dogs helps you hunt and guard, but cats chase away pests and doesn’t need 24/7 care and attention.
ОтветитьTo clear up some false points;
1. Hot baths occurred rarely.
- In the middle ages, gross smells were usually associated with diseases, and thus taking a bath was a must in order to "survive in society". There were many public warm baths, even in the small distant towns from "large-ish" cities.
2. You shared your space with rats.
- This is wrong due to the fact that there is much proof that cats were used as pest control in the castles. There were even paintings representing that claim in the video, but it wasn't talked about.
I'm always up the crack of dawn. You can guess my wife's name.
ОтветитьI like to imagine what it must have been like in its prime.
Edit - it's got cellars, a kitchen, a great hall with a huge fireplace with carved stone mantelpiece
You cannot accept vermin but for centuries people lived short, sickly, pain-filled lives. Who knows how many genealogical lines came to an end?
ОтветитьLads and Laddy's. M'lady If it please you, willist thow oblige me your hand in matrimony this day, or be it a fortnight My charms will befall you.
