Do you need to have a Mac to use this feature? I followed the step in preferences but when I right-click the MP3 option still doesn't show up.

Nope, the "Create mp3 version" option doesn't appear for me, even after I take the steps as shown. Maybe because I'm on Windows.

Did not work at all windows 10 running itunes as admin and didn't work at all. Sad. I like the songs I have that are m4a but want to bring them on my ipod everywhere.


EDIT: Just using VLC, file convert find the file you want to convert save file and select mp3 hit ok and convert.

It took a bit of searching to find an m4a to mp3 converter that didn't have malware. I downloaded fre:ac and it works like a champ. Do your homework. Make sure it doesn't have malware but as of 7/3/2015 it installed with no malware and was just what I was looking for.
