I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear this conversation. Bill’s work has always been something that gives me comfort in dark times. I learned so much watching this, but more importantly I feel a little less alone. Thank you!
Ответитьdon't there have to be at least some people who do have imposter syndrome but actually really are bad at the thing they are worried about being bad at?
Ответитьwho have counted how many time “you know” have been said?
ОтветитьPsychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
ОтветитьAs a fellow Panic/ Aniexty sufferer Thanks foe being so Honest i can relate to alot of this ....
ОтветитьThe word they used.... it is a Buddhist term “prapañca”, which means “proliferation” or an “imperialist tendency of mind”.
ОтветитьIs this guy trying to be Bill Maher?
Ответитьdecaf!
ОтветитьLoved this. Needed to hear it. I don’t feel so alone anymore.
ОтветитьThank you for this! is there a specific Communication course you can recommend?
ОтветитьCan we all just appreciate the fact that Dan either liked or replied to every single comment. And Bill rocks!
ОтветитьLove you Bill! Barry is my favorite show ever, like ever. Not joking. It is that good.
ОтветитьThis is a very important video...thank you Bill Hader for having the courage to talk about something that most people do suffer from.
ОтветитьScrew the g.d. listen to Reggae Bill.
ОтветитьMike Pine would call me Buffalo Butt
ОтветитьWow! Bill surely put an effort on his appearance to look well groomed, clean cut and refined on this show...not even James Bond in a tuxedo looked as sharp as Bill did in this podcast.
I wouldnt be surprised if GQ magazine had him in their next cover.
😂
Leave my legs and me alone
ОтветитьOh man I relate to Bill's thing where he says he interacts with someone and sees they seem stressed or upset, internalizing that like "oh, I did that, I should fix that" - and then the person not responding right away via text or whatever - the feeling "I blew it, they hate me now"... man that's hard.
ОтветитьMan, it's like there are totally layers to anxiety, to the ways in which every thing in our lives can contribute or counter the other measures we take to combat the anxiety- when my life is very up-in-the-air and uncertain, its harder to even calm down enough to DO anything to combat the stress - a total irony! It's like "I'm too stressed and jumbled up to actually commit to meditating right now." It's hard to sometimes take action to soothe the one thing, while external factors contribute TO the anxiety. It's like putting on bandaids as someone is repeatedly stabbing you...
ОтветитьLove you Bill! Barry is my favorite show ever, like ever. Not joking. It is that good.
ОтветитьYou know.😊
ОтветитьHader's gonna hade.
ОтветитьWell, he is an impostor. He is just a stand-up comedian working as an actor, but he sucks
ОтветитьI love bill. You know
ОтветитьBill, needs a role being a mysterious, anxious, laconic guy.
ОтветитьLong-time fan, first-time commenter... Dan Harris, "10% Happier" is the everyman's quest. Thank you.
Ответитьmy friends and i call it de-sexapro (it kills ur sec drive)
Ответитьi love this - someone successful and famous and likable being genuine talking openly about his neuroses - this really helps ppl - thanks, dude.
(even tho he likes the dead 🙄🤦)
What was that word, Propunchia?
ОтветитьMy writing partner and I are about to go out with our first pitch. We're going to be in some real rooms. I'm fucking scared. I just want it to go well enough that I'll be allowed to come back
ОтветитьThere is incredible beauty in imperfection! Bill has more of a self esteem and attachment issue. He is over concerned about what people will think of him. And yet he overcomes it so magically! True genius, but wounded. Aren't we all, but he made it into an incredible artistic outlet.
ОтветитьI relate so much to how Bill feels about his anxiety
ОтветитьWe seem to be trashing Coffee, when we are putting ourselves into high demand, high stress situations and yeah... let's blame coffee... sure coffee isn't great for us, but um...
ОтветитьIs probably a bad sign that i certainly have anxiety, and throughout this whole conversation I just keep thinking "I really want a cup of coffee."
ОтветитьIMPOSTOR
ОтветитьThis is brilliant! I just stumbled across this interview and only clicked on it because I think Bill is a genius who can see right through all the BS in society. I love how you made it a safe place for him to be vulnerable. I have so much respect for Bill as a human being and so much he said in this interview resonated with me. I am now a new fan of this Ten Percent Happier and I received a lot of valuable information from the 2 of you. Very grateful and sending all my love!
ОтветитьBill is a treasure and this look into the inner working of his thoughts is awesome. Incredible interview!
ОтветитьThanks Bill Hader for raising people's spirits through laughter.
ОтветитьThat!
ОтветитьI don't think some people understand what an actual panic attack is
ОтветитьI don’t want to armchair diagnose anyone… buuut my dr did say that his other ADHD patients tend to drink ungodly amounts of coffee and often overuse sugar too…
Undiagnosed it often comes with comorbidities like anxiety and, in my case, depression…
Exercise also help to manage it a a lot…
Just something to maybe consider…
Bill looks like he was taking a deep nap and forgot the interview was happening.
ОтветитьI wish Bill Hader was my best friend
ОтветитьANXIETY ON SET HAS GOT TO BE DIFFERENT THAN ANXIETY IN THE ACTORS OWN LIFE.........OR THE ANXIETY THE ACTOR IS TRYING TO CONVEY.....
CRAFT SERVICES WOULD GIVE ME ANXIETY.......IM A FAT KID AT HEART.
HEY BILL!👋👋👋
💀💀💀
Props to Bill for dressing up and holding the mic the whole time
ОтветитьBill your a Great writer, comedian, and a beautiful human. Love your work! Stay healthy! My mantra is “ peaceful, content and confident”. It usually helps me get recentered to what I try to be. Weed helps me when all else fails 😊
ОтветитьListening to this was extremely validating and comforting. I just wanted to share, and this is something I'm sure Bill Hader may have already considered for what it's worth, but I used to drink energy drinks every day at work which amplified my anxiety but helped me focus. Then I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (with general anxiety and panic disorder which often go together). I like to push myself professionally and personally and found lifestyle changes (like ones you discussed) plus medication for my ADD helped a great deal. No more energy drinks needed and with the right medication I am functioning with noticeably less anxiety. Probably because I am able to rein in all the thoughts and focus on priorities, be better prepared and think on my feet. Thanks very much for sharing your experiences; I really empathize and it takes a lot of guts to keep putting yourselves out there given the internal battles you face. Take care.
ОтветитьThis conversation has helped me immensely. I identify with everything discussed and I'm so glad you have created an awareness of anxiety and how to deal with it.
