Danny I would love to see the cameraman directly behind you so I can see the arc the club travels in when you do the chipping video, also directly front on so I can get a better picture of whats actually going on. Chipping has killed my game for years all the help you give everybody is greatly appreciated cheer

Thanks Danny, just came across this one. The best chipping video for my game that I’ve come across. Have applied to two rounds, and these changes alone have completely changed my chipping game. Today the confidence I had around the green was completely different to anything I’ve had before. I started feeing like I could experiment with swing speed more, and I could actually choose my line. Holed one out for the first time in ages and very narrowly missed out on holing three more (by millimetres). Great stuff.

lol rotate the ball so it would line up to your protectory? you can do that if you are on the green but not fringes nor the ruff. Noob golfer!

there is a big issue with this video, you are chipping on perfect grass. We need a video on how to hit a high/soft chip shot when your ball is on dirt

I'm impressed every time he intentionally mishits a shot a particular way. That really proves just how good of a teacher he is. If you know exactly what's happening in a bad shot, you can pin-point how to correct it.

These are my favourite shots btw. So satisfying (when they do work). There's no greater feeling than a nice and precise chip right onto the green. That sound is just something else... <3

IMHO the most important thing around the green is to resist the temptation to aim upwards, but instead hit it right into the ground, basically.

To each their own... but that wrist flip f's a lot of players up. If you can't hit it using only your left arm the flip is not going to make anything easier.

Danny, I have been recovering from hip surgery to correct an issue that came about from my original hip replacement. I have been using this time to binge your videos. Thank you for making them available, I have subscribed to your channel as well. I went to the driving range today in the wee hours to escape the over 110 degree heat of the day here in the PHX area for the first time in 4 weeks. I used your videos to improve my iron play and I am quite happy in the way that I was able to hit the ball today. However, my driver needs a bit more practice to get the motion back. I have been using your driver videos to accomplish that with the catapult system and to get the club head weight movement in an arc that is balanced. It is my hope to play in my men's league this Tuesday to be able to improve my handicap and of course to win more skins and deuces. Thank you once again.

I went to the practice green several times before I wrote this evaluation. It really improved my chipping accuracy. I especially liked the ball tossing analogy. It made striking the ball easy. The same goes for popping the ball with the club. I can’t wait to use it on the golf course. Thank you Danny.

Danny, thank you for making this instruction as simple as possible. I’ve taken several strokes off of my score, and as a result, it’s taken a ton of pressure off the rest of my game. I’m 60 years old, and enjoying golf again! Thank you so much, and best to you my friend!

Danny, love your lessons,. Have been struggling with my chipping for years and found your technique effective, but what i mist ( as a chipping yips freak ) was what to do with my elbows turned internally to stop the yips. Perhaps you could give this some attention. Thanks.

I would like to choke someone who taught me to forward press and drag the handle on chip shots. I've struggled with inconsistent chipping for years. I used to get away with it thanks to great hand-eye coordination but lost that somewhere along the way. Thanks for the tip. It works so much better now. Just need to calibrate the distances, but the contact is much more crisp and consistent.

The only tip for good chipping is this. Be confident a commit. All the rest is blabber. Because it isn’t a full swing, the yip demons can take over. All of the mechanics go bye bye when your head decides to screw you over. For us 8 handicaps, chipping will come and go. I haven’t found a drug that shuts off my brain except one. And it works like magic. Every time. It’s called booze. Takes away the yips, and it’s way more fun.

My problem isn’t thinning it, or duffing. My problem is knowing how far to hit the ball to get the proper run. Sometimes I leave it way short, or I hit it 15 feet past the hole. I have a hard time judging the roll after the chip.

I practice chipping alot. I use the putter style stroke often.i vary ball position for more height. I am afraid of no chip or pitch. Never use shot you don't practice. Practice all of the shots and use the easiest most effective style out on the course. Wet or bad lies use the toe with tilt. If you don't have a pitch or chip with stopping power use fringe or grass to slow the ball. You can also get spin with acceleration

Hi again Danny. I’m a ~21 handicapper and have always struggled with my short game. Historically, I’d either attempt to putt from a crazy distance out or usually fat/thin my 58 degree to an embarrassing end.

I’ve just returned from our annual golf tournament (Celtic Manor this year) with a first place trophy. Using the methods outlined here (and practicing before) I felt incredibly confident around the greens. I’d find myself looking forward to taking out my Gap wedge, attacking the shot and usually leaving it ~6 foot from the pin if not in gimme territory. It takes out the complexity and leaves an extremely manageable shot.

I 3-putted only 6 times across 3 rounds and managed 39 stableford points on the 2010 course on the last day.

Just wanted to extend a massive thanks for all your advice and time taken on these videos, this one has genuinely reinvigorated my love of golf.

You may have one and I haven’t yet found it, but a video on sensible course management tips for ~15-25 handicappers would be really helpful if you’re looking for ideas 😆 as mentioned before, I also have the same shoes, so maybe that’s it 😉 thanks again.
