I'm definitely a fuzz guy, it's more aggressive, more organic, and so much more alive than regular distortion.
With some fuzz pedals, it's not easy to predict the effect you want, it kinda does its own thing.

I prefer overdrive especially for blues and jazz

All of them on a board. You can even stack them for some crazy tones. Ds1 with a fuzz face through a lightly overdriven marshall is godly. Neck pickup, single coil.
