When you’re paying £3.50 for a coffee instead of boiling up some water for 10p and dropping a 3p tea bag and dash of milk you’re going wrong.

Hi I feel for you with your mechanical issues, 2 quick thoughts when getting a reconditioned engine you really have got to find a reliable company do some research on this.
2 thought is that you could remove your Luton box and fit it to a more reliable chassis which might help in the long run.
One more thought the RAC aren’t very good with recovery and you’d be better off with the AA.
GOOD LUCK

Unemployment counts against you in insurance

I will 100% save money , I have a large storage unit where I have a music studio, with nice sofa, big tv ,heating and Gonna put a little stove and fridge/freezer in there , I can spend as much time as I want in there day or night but can’t actually sleep for insurance purposes which is fair enough it’s there’s an fire or explosion ( it’s in a modern warehouse with a lot of electrical stuff ) obviously the landlord doesn’t want to risk it so I’m gonna sleep in my small van I already use for my job as a long distance courier and it cost me £850 , I’m gonna put a layer of insulation in , make it nice and tidy , then ile sleep in my van outside the warehouse in a Locked compound , will get a portable power station for a little heater for winter and all I really need is a soft matt to sleep on and a winter sleeping bag my phone and a charger and that’s it , there’s modern toilets with a sink in the warehouse and I’m gonna join the gym for £20 a month to get fit and most importantly have a access to a shower 24hrs , ile basically chill in my studio till 11/12 go to sleep in my van then get up around 6 , go gym and then straight to work .. I’ve estimated I can save an extra 1000/1500 a month that would be swallowed up for rent , when in up and running.. if I like it ile get a nice, slightly bigger van .. quite looking forward to it 👌

Hi, great video and good that it’s based on current costs however, just looking at winter costs isn’t really realistic because it’s going to be cheaper in summer so really you need to add up a year and work out a weekly average to get a true idea of costs.

Hey, cheers for the vid been contemplating doing this for years now as im sick or wasting money for renting etc, im thinking of three vehicles, a luton to convert or just buying a horsebox not the 7.5 ton kn just bit smaller 😂and converting the back to accommodate my motorbike which will not be much to do, or just wait out for a ex military truck and convert that as all i be doing is driving it mostly on weekends and booking holidays off when i get chance. So many choices. And designs to thing about. And trying to sauce products and kit to build a home on wheels

Wow, genuinely super expensive to me, we're a couple and use only 2k a year more than you do in a 2bed house, we did a cost break down of moving into a narrowboat and it was around £11k a year, much cheaper than vanlife but indeed alot more limited in travel

The one question that has always been in the back of my mind is… what do you do for a permanent address?
It’s ok if you have family or friends who are willing to let you use theirs, but what if you don’t?
I mean you’ve got to have an address for licenses and insurance etc. how do you truly live permanently in a van?

Hi. Loved the video; especially when you share how you make money. Very generous of you.
I wouldn't swap the engine because the electrics ina citroen are terrible and will give out eventually too.
I've had 2 citroens. I'd stick with a transit or mercedes etc. Good luck.

Very informative. But the thing is.... You can't drive a flat? You can't travel in a flat. You cant even nip to the shops in a flat. You certainly can't move a flat to be nearer to work to avoid travelling as far.
Basically van life is way better even if cost as much as a flat

Most of the things you are saying here you would have to spend anyway living in a house
Food
Heating
Vehicle repairs
Fuel for the car to get to work
Plus then you'd have a huge mortgage, council tax much higher bills

Hi, love the honesty in your videos, showing the good and the bad side of van life. I would just like to say that I believe you don’t get any ad’ revenue if the viewer skips the ad. So everyone, help support Liam and Jenine and watch the ads to the end, it’s only a couple of minutes, but will help them.

Most people just use there vans for the weekend & it's cheaper than getting a b&b you don't need to spend money on car parks overnight just find a road that's got no restrictions for parking like I do & I think trying to live in your van it's crazy it's going to be expensive if you're moving about all the time

I can see it can be expensive.
It can also be much cheaper. You choose to live fairly well and go places. Others stay quite local and spend less using much smaller vehicles.
I'd love it. One thing would do do it for me. The nasty neighbours you have to endure when you are in a house. I loved it here so much that I bought it. Only to have my neighbours move out and the house be sold to a landlord. First tennants were lovely people. I didn't mind the noise so much as it was for a purpose and they always kept it to reasonable hours.
My current ones are making me ill with their narcissistic behaviour.
Any hour of the day or night, The noise starts and they do everything loud. All they care about are themselves.
-
No, on the road is definitely a good choice. I hope it works out for you. Have you thought of switching to a boat? Or...buying abroad. Cheap land out there and many people build their own homes. All you would need is somewhere to park?

I got stopped by police Bristol
I forget the situation it was road tax
But I had only bought the van and I got the v5 sent to my brothers house
In Ireland I will just say it became
Award . If some one could do a video on this and this only as I see
This the major complications

When I was in the shopfitting 2020
I rented a room in Harrow it was
£150 per week it was a large double
In 1986 I rented a box room Greenford £35 per week
When paying the £150 per week
A Liverpool guy said why don't you
Buy a van to live in so I did for 2.5 years and we had it to the tee
It saved me a lot. It's not easy
But it teaches you a lot

Hi I'm 15 and when I'm older I'd love to live in a van with me and I'd get a puppy. I'm starting to save now and I'm really excited this video is very helpful. I don't want to live in an apartment it seems boring to me and I would prefer to travel and be more nomadic. I have some questions though

1. Where do you go to the toilet? Do you have to stop somewhere everytime
2. If you buy a van in the UK where they drive with the steering wheel on the right side what happens if you go to say Switzerland where they drive on the left?
3. Is it cheaper to buy a van in another country?
4. What type of van should I get?
