Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal claimed that the Kerala govt is finding it tough to manage its finances to meet its obligations due to factors such as reduced share from the divisible pool, lower revenue neutral rate post-GST implementation, cessation of GST compensation and Revenue Deficit Grants, and new restrictions on the borrowing limits.

The opposition. Ruled southern states have come with a nice model of milking money or gaining political mileage. If the central gives money, then tell people we have done this development. If the centre doesn't gove money, then the central doesn't want the southern parts of India to develop (North vs. South)
ОтветитьThe central should bring a rule that if there are freenies being given by the state government when it is running in deficit, then it won't be given any grants from the central government. All amounts given by the central government over and above the budgetory allocation as decided by the formula set by Indian statistical organisation will be treated as debt given by central government to state government and need to be repaid within 5 to 10 years. The position in Karnataka is so bad that KSRTC will be running in operating losses for the 1st time since pandemic.
