this stretches the text.. what if i wanna put the text on a specific part/area of the object without stretching it to cover the entire object?
For example, putting some text on a paper, or a dollar sign on a coin/bill.

I don't understand how to click on the shape to separate out the type and change it. When I click a new line of type pops up. I can't select the original type and make changes to it. I have not extended the type - it's still native type. Just can't select it.

SO been trying this with a lips shape and right now the text does conform well, it's as if it need more points or info within the shape? Am I missing something

trying to combine text with a circle, it keeps saying "this requires a selection of multiple objects. the top object must be a single path or mesh, or a symbol containing a single path or mesh" - does it not work w the circle tool?

Hi, I have my shape and my text but it doesn't let me make with top object. My shape is single path closed and my text is basic but it won't allow me to do it. I've re-watched this tutorial like 12 times and I'm positive I'm not doing it wrong, could someone please help me
