Thanks for shearing 👍
ОтветитьI just replaced mine (2014 Jeep Compass).
If it took me 3 minutes to swap them, I'd be exaggerating.
Piece-of-cake!
THANKS!!!!!!!!!
😎👍
Hi, I've just changed the astruts on my car as they were squeaking, it was easy to replace, but they're not holding the boot up and come crashing down rather rapidly, what did I do wrong?
ОтветитьA great video on how to replace gas struts... thanks Farmer Jay
Ответитьthis didnt need to be 7 minutes long. get to the point
ОтветитьThanks Man!
ОтветитьWell done!
ОтветитьWill try it tomorrow morning for the first time. I am not a gay - but what a charming old man! :-D
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how to decompress these? One of my ens came out of its spit and it stretched out to far where I can't get it to go back on.
ОтветитьWatched your video on changing shocks on the hatch back. Thanks for posting it. I followed the instructions to change the shocks on my wife’s Chrysler van. It worked perfectly.
ОтветитьThanks a lot, i did it exactly like you said and it worked perfectly
ОтветитьFantastic rundown! Thanks for the detailed instructions.
ОтветитьExcellent video. I just replaced mine in under 10 min. Absolutely listen to this gentleman about having a ladder to support the lift gate.
ОтветитьNobody tells which way is up or down! Some have the stanchion tube at the top, some at the bottom?!?
ОтветитьThank you 🙏 Sir 😊😊
ОтветитьThis video was so helpful! As a female who often finds herself having to tackle these task, I can't thank you enough!!❤
ОтветитьA very good video. Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much for your excellent video and clear instructions Jay. I've just changed my gas struts on my 2005 Nissan Almera after watching your video a couple of times. I'm relieved to have ditched the wooden plank that was propping my hatch/tailgate up which was more dangerous than I thought - you're right, those tailgates are very heavy! Everything went smoothly and you've given me the confidence to try other small practical jobs too.
ОтветитьWow, what fantastic tutorial. The camera shots are excellent, it is wonderful to be able to see exactly what you are doing all the way through to the end. Have saved this to my computer. I was hesitant to buy this little hatchback because the struts don't work, but now will confidently put another bid on it. Thanks a million!
ОтветитьThanks bud! Great help, gave me confidence to get working on it
ОтветитьGood clear presentation 👍
ОтветитьThank u so much DFJ. Very accurate instructions. Godbless
ОтветитьThis video is great! My husband and I changed out the lift struts together. Now I want to try other repairs!
ОтветитьWe are evidently weak. We had to use the ladder and then put the car jack on it using two pieces of wood one on the top of the jack between it and the hatch and one on the ladder between it and the jack. Once we did that it was quick. Those 60 year old ladies are super human as far as we are concerned.
ОтветитьNo need to pull clips out on the new struts---just push it on the ball
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial. Made this process of installation clear and understandable. Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks for the upload.
ОтветитьSo helpful!! Thanks
ОтветитьThank you very much!!!
ОтветитьThank you Jay
ОтветитьFYI , WD40 is not a lubricant, it’s actually a water displacement spray and will dry out grease
ОтветитьI've watched other videos on this, but this is the one that talked about supporting the weight of the hatch before doing it. Thank you.
ОтветитьBest visual and explanation on how to make this change out!! Thx!!
ОтветитьMany thanks. Worked great!
ОтветитьMy new struts that I bought are 1cm longer than old. Guy in the shop gave those to me as struts for my car.. Are they usless for me? Is there some advice how to install them? Compression by hand is not possible of course.
ОтветитьGood explanation and detailed enough but short video. Thank You! Great job and help.
Ответить4 years later this video help me thank you so much
ОтветитьThank you very much ,❤❤this video was very helpful

ОтветитьUntil watching your video, I found out that I was not supposed to remove the clips, thank you for sharing

Ответитьjesus, i thought you chopped your finger tip off lol
ОтветитьSaved me a lot of work! Changed the hood strut on my 2005 Crossfire in about 10 minutes.
ОтветитьThanks dude
ОтветитьThanks this was very helpful as I wasn't sure how to get the catches off the back and didn't want to break them.
ОтветитьHow to avoid KNOT on HEAD😂
ОтветитьDoes it matter if the thin part of the hydraulics are on the top or bottom?
ОтветитьTks for the ladder tip! I have to park on a slope ! I will def work on level ground!
ОтветитьThank you! Quick & easy install 🤩
